Everyone does realize that the article posted in the OP is a satire right? (At least I assumed so.)

I didn't read the whole thing through.

In light of recent absurd and hysterical events though, it seems like it could easily have been true. I wish the satirization made me feel better , but really, as with laurie31's own example, these trends are so nauseating.

I'll try to laugh harder to drown out the ignorance, but it's hard. (Everyone here, though is pretty good at getting the laughs going, though.)

And the 80's must have been THE decade for 'gay' cartoons. He-Man was about as gay as you could get and then there was the ever present "Thundercats" which was probably even MORE gay than He-Man was.

Don't forget the Smurfs. There were TONS of male smurfs but only TWO female smurfs: Smurfette and Sassy (who was kinda butch).

And Disney does not publicly endorse Gay Days--so protesting them IMHO doesn't do squat and I giggle at all those with their "beliefs" who do as such. Perhaps God was punishing other people for other things. Natural Disasters are not all out punishments against those in their path.

And I thought the Village People didn't "come out" until Disco--wasn't Fred and Barney around before Disco. Maybe they stole the construction worker idea from them. Hmmm...Hanna-Barbara should sue! .

I am by no means an expert on religious justification, but I think Robertson and his ilk feel God is okay with some "innocents" getting the way of his smiting of the sinners.
