We have cruised to Europe for out last two Disney vacations. That said I have no idea what a reasonable price for a flight from Ohio is these days. It's been 6 years since we've flown to Orlando. Any ball park numbers for Xmas time? $370 lowest so far.

A lot depends on the airport you will be flying from and the day of the week and time of day that you're flying. However, I would not be surprised if $370 RT during Christmas is the best rate. That's a busy travel time. I'm seeing $308 RT from Philly in October and kayak is saying "buy now", so I'm sure that Christmas will be even more expensive for me.

You can use the fare predictor on websites like kayak or bing to help you decide whether the price you're seeing is likely to go up or down. It's not guaranteed, but they have a pretty good track record.

My general goal price is under $250. I'm extra happy with$225-$200 and ecstatic if I can get tickets for less than $200. However, Christmastime can cause fares to be higher depending on your departure airport and dates. If you are comfortable with $370 and your dates are not negotiable then go ahead and buy the tickets. If you are willing to take the risk, you might want to watch the prices for a few more weeks and see what happens.

I've never flown during the Christmas season, but I've flown from NE OH to FL a decent number of times.

I think you can actually see a graph on Kayak that shows where the price has been....even what it was around the same date a year ago...I think...at any rate Marionnette has given great advice.

Just an aside, and I could be wrong, but I think Bing stopped doing the fare predictor thing....at least I could not find it earlier this year on their site...does not mean that it isn't there, however.

It is gone.

Does Southwest fly out of anywhere near you? They will open dates through the rest of the year on Monday. I find them be cheapest, especially since you get free bags!

I had forgotten about Southwest until the other day. They were not booking that far yet. Good to know it will be Monday. I am a teacher so I have 2 weeks off at Xmas so I am flexible with dates. My boys are all teens now and none have a winter sport! Yeah!

Frontier Airlines just started flying out of CLE. They seem to be pretty inexpensive.

I fly from CLE to MCO and/or TPA multiple times a year. At this point I usually grab anything under $300. Sad. Someone mentioned Frontier and while they had cheap fares a few months ago as a promotion fares have skyrocketed now and the additional fees are crazy. I flew in January into MCO for marathon weekend and paid $310 I believe. Christmas can be very expensive. I would wait til Southwest comes out with their schedule and go from there. If the cheaper you are finding is $370. I would hold off. Good luck.

Have you tried Akron Canton airport? It's very small, but always has direct flights to MCO. I used to fly Airtran from there to MCO, but this time used Southwest airline since the two are kind of merged. Just booked like not even two weeks ago for a week in June and round trip was $185/person. I have done around Xmas time before from there, but it was years ago so I don't remember the fares anymore. But I would try them as an airport, much cheaper than Cleveland and a lot of times when I search CLE, they don't have direct flights! That is strange to me because it's like a two hour and fifteen minute flight, why do I need a layover somewhere???

When in June are you flying from CAK? I just booked Southwest in June for 280$ out of CLE. For 185$ I would have made the drive to Akron. :/
