Flights of Wonder- Yay or nay?

Definitely a YAY for our family, but we have an African Grey parrot and he's an important part of our family-think 2 year old with feathers, so I'm a little biased about the birds. The show is very good and has an important message-educational AND fun!

My daughter is terrified of birds flying over head - do they do that in the show? She about cardiac arrested when a flock of parrots swooped out of the bushes over our heads at AK last trip in the middle of the day. She skips park open because they fly over the crowd but this random middle of day event freaked her out. Just wondering because I wouldn't mind seeing this show finally but definitely not if birds fly over the audience.

Yes birds fly over the audience. We love the show but if the OP is pressed for time (and it sounds like they might be), it would be one to save for another time.

Why would anyone be pressed for time at AK, since it is only a 'half-day park'. Yes, that's sarcasm.

I never miss it. Not even a bird fan (was going to say Big Bird fan, but this isn't Sesame Street Place). On the one hand, FOTLK and Nemo are bigger shows, but that also means harder to get into. I love the puppetry of Nemo and FOTLK is the best show in IMHO.

Totally yay!! I once went to animal kingdom just to watch the show and see FOTLK and walked out.

(I had already been to the park earlier in the week so I didn't leave cause I don't like AK.)

Like another poster said, I think you should see and do everything at least once otherwise how will you know if you like it or not. I'm the same way with food too by the way. Anyway, I walked by it for years, and finally last year while on a quest to do things I had never done, I stopped and saw the show. Enjoyed the heck out of it so I say, yep see it.

Yes, they fly overhead. But I still think you should go, it's a really good show. We always skipped it before our most recent trip, but did it twice this trip. It was cool. If your daughter is scared of birds, maybe just try to prep her in advance. It's not a flock of birds flying inches above everyone...if I recall, there are 3 total crowd fly overs, one at a time. If you sit up in the stadium seating section all the way to the far side, you won't have the birds fly over you. They fly to those sections, but in the middle of them (i.e. the middle of the left group of seats then the middle of the right group), so if you stay all the way to the end you'll be fine.

I think if you sit at the top tier all the way to the back, she would not have any problem. Sit against the wall.

It's a combination of fun and education. While we saw a much better, completely serious version of what large birds can do in Germany, I thought that this was a nicely done version that shows what birds naturally do (without doing silly things like having them ride bicycles) while keeping an amusing story to keep younger viewers interested. We've seen it a couple of times and enjoyed it. It's also under cover and you can sit for a bit so it's nice to do on a hot day when you're tired.

DH and I liked it a lot - we were pleasantly surprised because we went to it just to say we had and now I'm looking forward to taking our 5 yr old son

YAY! YAY & YAY! One of our favorite shows at Disney. It is a not to be missed for all of our family!

We skipped it for years. Two trips ago we saw it and looooved it.
We skipped it for years too - then one trip DH wanted to ride EE so DD and I had some time to 'kill'. We wondered into the show (always avoided it before 'a bird show?!"). We LOVED it and dragged DH back to see it after we found him. He loved it too. Now we see it several times a trip - loads of fun :-)

We love it and always do it. I also hate when birds get too close to me (didn't hate birds before a seagull practically stalked me in MK 10 years ago and stole fries out of my hand..twice!), but this show doesn't bother me at all.
