What has everyone been able to get for flights to Orlando? Delta and Southwest are only two that go non-stop. Delta is around $270pp (with the best flight times for our trip 9/21-9/25), while SW is around $252pp.

Other option is to fly Airtran out of Dayton for about $211pp. Any experience from folks with that trip?

We flew from CMH to MCO last fall, and I don't remember exactly what we paid, but I *think* it was around $199/209 or so per person for round trip on Delta. We flew on the last flight out at night, around 8:30-9 pm, something like that. It was on a little regional jet I think (50 seater). We did change our flight less than 48 hours before we left, I don't know if there were penalties for that or not, DH took care of it.

I'm also interested in this as I'm a fellow Ohioan looking for cheap airfare! Right now the only thing I've found is around the prices you gave. :sad2: I'm hoping to find something around $200 in Nov. I'll let you know if I find anything below $250!

THis is for our up coming trip in July. When I was looking they were all around $250+ and not the nonstop flights either. This wasn't an option w/ ds 15mths so we were prepared to drive. I signed up for Orbitz's deal detector and this popped up. I haven't seen it again though. This is for the Delta non-stop flight that leaves at 6 AM and returns at like 9 PM. One thing I learned, at least with Orbitz was not to put in a flight time choice. Let them give you all of the options. When I tried to type in the dates and times the price always came up higher. When I typed in just the dates it was cheaper. I was still able to the flight times that I wanted. Good luck!

I went ahead on booked Airtran out of Dayton for $211 r/t (taxes and all). What is the Dayton airport like as far as time needed to get through security at 8am on a Weds?

SouthWest's Ding fare currently has CMH to MCO for $88 one way. Round trip it comes out to $194.40 (including taxes). I just booked it for Sept 24 - 28.

The ding expires at 2PM today.

Saw the Ding fare also. Their non-stop times took too much time out of our first and last days. For a minute, I felt sick when I saw it, but feel OK with Airtran out of DAY.

We flew out of Dayton in March (normally fly out of Columbus) and it was SO much easier to use the Dayton airport (if you can deal with the drive). The airport is just north of I-70. We parked in the long term parking lot and a shuttle bus/van pulled up right behind our vehicle (about 9 in the morning on a Saturday) and we were the only people. We flew Delta and had no line at checkin, breezed through security and walked the long hallway to our gate in no time. It was a great experience. So, we now check the prices out of Dayton and Columbus!

That's great news! We are right by I-70 (Reynoldsburg), so it is just about 80 miles straight down 70. Our flight leaves at 8, so I am hoping we can leave the house around 5:15,get there at 6:30 and have plenty of time.

Another possible idea is check rickenbacker into sanford.
