All trips to Florida now have to be in School holidays and our daughter is now 13 therefore an adult. In the past we have always travelled either Virgin or BA Fly Drive (we have DVC Vacation Club). Looking at booking at possibilities for next year and I am considering Travel City Direct.

Any views or exeriencies please or alternatives much appreciated.

I was looking at cosmos last night, for a flight only from Newcastle, in Sept it came back as £350ish, each.

Not sure what other airports they fly from

Believe me you'll get views from both camps on this and if you do a search you'll return pages of threads - good and bad. However, from personal experience we have always used them and never had a bad time.

We have only used them once, last year, although it was a package we booked. No problems whatsoever. We were looking at using them this year, but managed to get flights from Birmingham instead, and booked the car separately. The only reason we didn't use TCD was because it is Gatwick, and we don't like the airport. Birmingham is closer for us, and works out cheaper because we don't have to stay in a hotel the night before, or pay for parking.

Always found them very helpful. Didn't mind that we rang and asked quite a lot of questions, and added things to the booking. Always confirmed the changes in writing within a few days.

Flight was OK. Food was OK. The only thing that spoilt the flight out to Sanford was DS being sick, but that was nothing to do with TCD.

They also offer early check-in at LBV outlets for the morning you fly back. As our flight was not until 8.00 pm, this was great, as it meant we could get rid of our suitcases, and spend another day in the parks without worrying about luggage being on view in the car (we had a minivan).

No problems, and if they flew from Birmingham or East Midlands Airports, we would use them again.

Hope this helps

used them once in 2003 when we had to go in august school holidays & they were the cheapest we could find for direct flights.

Had no problems & would fly with them again.

That's a good point :thumbsup2

We used to travel with Airtours when DS and DD turned 12 :sunny:

Dsis in law has just booked for us to go next May :cheer2: a package deal including car, villa & flights. The original quote we were given was in the region of £3.5k (sorry can't remember who that was with) TCD offered us £2k ish which means more money now for us to spend there!! :bounce:
Now that math I do like!!!
Again I don't know what they are like but I will let you know

We received TCD new brochure for 2007 yesterday. Went onto their website and they are giving prices and taking bookings for next year.

May be worth a look.

We are in the same boat. DVC members having to go next August. May consider TCD too. Waiting for next year's school holidays to be announced on the off chance they may change to the two week october half term!!
