Flight times- the Agony and the Ecstacy

I booked our October flights to Orlando the first part of May because I was afraid the fares would keep going up. Fine.

I have been checking the prices periodically because I am nosy. I noticed that NOW there are flights that I would have liked better coming out of Orlando, but they weren't listed when I booked. Hmm.

I got on the American site yesterday and AAACK!! they have changed the flight times! We leave Dallas 20 minutes later (not such a big deal), and we leave Orlando 25 minutes earlier. OK, that's a problem. We would be leaving Pop about 6:15 AM and the food court just opens at 6 AM. I am not a fan of breakfast in the airport, especially if there are delays somewhere and we don't have time to get anything at MCO. 15 minutes just wasn't going to cut it for me from the time the food court opens until we would be lining up for ME to the airport.

I called American and they were SO NICE! :) The lady put us on a later flight, no hassle, no extra charge (even though we have the cheapest tickets with the most restrictions) and then they e-mailed my revised itinerary a few hours later.

Now we will have about an hour more for breakfast at Pop than we would have had, but we still get back home early enough in the day that DS will have plenty of time to rest before going back to school the next morning.

We are probably some of the most INfrequent fliers around, so I just thought it was very nice of them to change us to another flight.

Personally, I think the food court at the airport is very nice now. Especially when they pick you up with plenty of time you could grab a meal there if the security line isn't too long.

I am not opposed to the food at the airport, just worried that if something weird happened with transportation that we might not have enough time. I am not a lucky person, so I try to build in plenty of "cushion" time for disasters. :rotfl:

Besides, maybe we will have dining credits left over! Those won't be good at the airport! :teeth:
