Flight questions...

I'm sure I'll have more questions in the next two weeks about this kind of thing - I always worry about what we must and what we can carry in our hand luggage and like to check before I go!

I'm taking daily disposable contact lenses with me, and I want to carry them in my hand luggage because if our cases go missing it'll just be one more thing to stress over. They come in blister packs with a little liquid in each lens pouch - will these be fine to take in my hand luggage in a clear ziplock bag?

My second question is about aerosol anti-perspirant. Is this OK to travel with (in checked luggage, not hand)? It says on VA's website that absolutely no flammable substances are allowed, but I must have taken it last time! I've never used roll-on. What does everyone here do?

What about electrical equipment? I know before it was always something you were supposed to carry in your hand luggage, and we'll be taking electric toothbrushes and my BF's electric shaver. We won't be able to check them because we're staying in Gatwick overnight and doing Twilight check-in (my BF comes out in an awful rash if he uses a regular razor and I just don't want to take any risks with my teeth - long story!). Will the above electrical equipment be fine as hand luggage or are we just going to have to suck it up and go manual for that one night?

I really appreciate any information/experiences that you guys can share with me!

TIA (although I'm sure I'll be back with even more questions at some point)

Not sure about the rest, but you could always pack a cheapy tooth brush in your bag just in case they don't allow it to go through. I can't see why they won't, but at least you'll have back up to hand and don't have to worry about no being able to brush your teeth.

Your BF could shave before you leave to check in, then buy another cheap electric razor at wallmart or something when you get there?

Ring you airline and ask what they think. They're all different.

Not long now, hope you have a great time!

If there's a chance they won't let the toothbrushes through in the hand luggage I'll put them in the checked baggage anyway (way too expensive to get confiscated!).

I should also have probably have said that we won't be going anywhere outside WDW apart from US/IOA and Aquatica - but again, if there's a chance his shaver won't be allowed through we'll put it with the checked baggage.

Thanks for the suggestions though!

Your contact lenses will be fine in a ziplock in your hand luggage. That's how Dh took his a few weeks ago.

We use aerosols but always buy a roll on for hols. You could always buy a new aerosol from Walmart etc once you get there.

I packed my electric toothbrush in my suitcase. Could you not use a regular brush just for when you are at the hotel?

So good to hear I'll be able to carry my lenses with me!

I've decided to take an anti-perspirant stick (can carry in hand luggage as well... keep fresh if there are flight delays!), and an anti-perspirant gel for BF. We'll put the electric toothbrushes in the checked luggage and make do with regular toothbrushes for our hand luggage (again, means we can maintain cleanliness if there's a big delay).

BF's shaver will have to come in hand luggage... but it's one of those ones with the three discs rather than blades anyway. And it's only for the journey out to the US (can go in checked luggage to come home).

We have carried aerosol deodrants in our cases everytime - so no problems if you want to take them.

Contact lens are ok but remember they need to be in your 'liquids bag' as they like to scan them separatley at security.

I can't see why your toothbrushes wouldn't be allowed in your hand luggage and I am pretty sure that I took mine last year but if you are worried take them to twlight check in with you and ask there then if there not ok to go as hand luggage you can just slip them in one of your cases. (BTW I amnot sure but toothpaste might become part of your liquids allowance if you take that in hand luggage - I usually keep the end of a tube when one gets low before be go and just bin it in the hotel in the morning)
