Flight question

We are flying out to Vegas on Sunday on Alligant Air, We are supposed to get some snow on that day. How much snow does it take to cancel a flight?

In general, planes will fly if it is not snowing so hard that visibility is greatly affected and that there isn't a large buildup on the runways. Everything might get delayed, but they'll fly.

A blizzard or icing conditions.

Standard snow could lend to delays--but as long as teh airports are equipped to handle snow on the runway and deicing, then you won't have any troubles other than some delays as it does slow things down.

It's kind of the same as thunderstorms and hurricanes. They fly as long as visibility is not compromised and wind doesn't exceed a certain MPH.

Don't know where you are located - and if you have to change flights or are going direct - but I heard on the news awhile ago that due to "blizzard" conditions in various parts of the country hundreds of flights have been cancelled already..

I would call ahead to make sure..
