Flight of passage- 70yrs old?

I guess it's very individual what will or will not be appropriate, after reading all these posts.
I am 71 and my husband is 74. On our last trip, first of March last year, sigh...), my husband rode it. He liked it, but he has nerve damage in his leg and the straps bothered him, so he won't ride it again. Otherwise it was fine.
I don't ride Soarin, so I knew I wouldn't tolerate FOP.
As a PP said, if she tolerates other coasters and thrill rides, then she should be fine.

Depends on if she is prone to motion sickness. DH in early 40s felt terrible after it and said never again. He rides any coaster but not Mission Space or Teacups. He is fine with Soarin as well. I even had to close my eyes a couple of times and I usually don’t have any motion issues

I would just like to say TEACUPS ARE THE WORST! I feel like such a wimp, but the dizziness kills me on those things!

FOP is “easy of the bones” as it does not jerky you around physically, so in that sense, should be fine for a 70 yo without health issues. I get less motion sick on FOP than Soarin. The wind, music, and video with FOP make it easy to tell when big drops and fast movements are going to happen. I find keeping my eyes on the banshee that seems like a guide early on really helps. Just remind them that they can shut their eyes if they get worried about motion sickness. The ride itself doesn’t move that much, it’s the visual that will make some folks sick. I can watch about half the time on a good day, but I still love the ride.

Great suggestion! I'd forgotten until you mentioned it that we did this with my parents and both of them decided they wanted to try and loved it!

Soaring is not a good indicator of whether she will get dizzy from motion sickness. on FOP, she can close her eyes if she starts to feel sick as the motion is not that bad, it’s the visuals that push someone over the edge on this ride. The ride itself is not dizzying, so if she starts to feel sick, tell her to close her eyes. i felt dizzy and sick pretty early on in the ride so closed my eyes. Peeking is a no-no if you feel dizzy.
