Has anyone done an 1130is flight home the morning you get off the ship? The flight options have changed and the only way home before bedtime is now at 1135 am. My travel agent recommends after 12 but then it will be hard for us to get home at a reasonable time and we need to be at work/school the next day (very limited options). This is assuming they don't move the time up 20 mins.....

Does this flight time work or will we be in trouble? It seems that as long as we are off the ship by 8 am we should be ok......

Thanks!

We usually walk off and Uber to the airport. If you have TSA precheck security is usually a breeze. I usually reserve a flight around 12, but many times have been lucky and have been able to get on a earlier flight standby - around 10 AM. That is if all goes well :)
I think 11:35 is safe - especially if you walk off and have TSA precheck. Security lines can be long without that at MCO, but you should still be fine.

Thanks!! We will have a shuttle picking us up (private) and we have Nexus cards so we should get pre check. We also have young kids so I think that comes with a shorter line too.

We don't have a lot of options. Our original choice was a 130 flight but it was pushed back to 930 pm!!

I appreciate your feedback!

In April, our 2:30 flight was moved up to 12:10. I was concerned, but found that was plenty of time. We got up, ate at Cabanas, disembarked without a line, walked right through Customs and onto the Disney transportation. We had plenty of time at the airport. You should be fine! Enjoy your trip.

What are the options for breakfast the day we leave? And what about luggage? I haven't been on a cruise forever! We have little kids to deal with too, although we can get them up before 7 for sure.

You will have breakfast in the dining room where you had dinner the night before. This will give you the opportunity to thank you wait staff, present them with tips if you choose as well. The menu is limited, and sometimes not customizable. We also have ordered items from room service the night before (coffee in particular) so that in the morning if we didn't want breakfast we had coffee/ juice and then just left. Which also facilitated us making a 9:10, yes 9:10 AM flight....

With TSA pre-check, I wouldn't worry. It would also help to do DCL's onboard check-in for your return flight, so you won't have to check yourselves or your bags in at the airport. You'll just walk straight to security.

We are flying home to Canada. So we can't use the check in on the ship. I think we will just pay for some data to check in the day before though so that will be done. And the flight is treated as domestic at MCO so if others here have made 910 am, we should be ok!

If there's a way to take our own luggage would that be better? I'm hoping to just have carry on.....

You will have plently of time. No reason not to take the DCL bus thou. With DCL bus you don't get your luggage and your already checkin. All you have to do at airport is go through security. So DCL bus might be faster. This is if your airline Has a agreement with DCL.
Just read all the posts see someone already mention this.

Why was you concern? Absolutely no reason to be worried about that time.

We aren't eligible for the on board check in as we will be on a Canadian carrier. So that's not an option for us.

You usually leave your luggage outside your stateroom the night before, right? Is there a way to keep it with you? It just seems easier and faster.....

Certainly you may keep your bags with you. Don't HAVE to put it out the night before. It's just that doing so makes it much easier for actually going to breakfast and getting off the ship in the morning. You must be out of your room by 8:00 and, honestly, dealing with people pulling their mega bags through the crowded atrium/waiting for the doors to open to debark, and people with bags filling the (small) elevators that morning is just a pain in the neck (to me).

IMO, it really doesn't take much longer to claim your bags in the terminal to take through customs that morning, as the escalator down from the terminal into the customs/immigration check area ends at the entrance to the bag claim area. The line snakes through the bag claim area anyway.

We did a flight home that left around 11:30/11:45 and we had no problem. We left our bags out the night before, had 2nd-seating breakfast, and used disney transportation to MCO. We checked our bags and were through security (no pre-check but had kids, so easy). We waiting about 20-30 minutes before our flight boarded. You should make it just fine :-)

Thanks everyone. I feel much better about the timing!! Here's hoping they don't make it earlier on us!!

There are remedies if the airline changes your flight time to a time that won't work. We've had to deal with it a couple of times.
