A friend of mine can get us the flight crew discount for our trip Feb 28-Mar 3, only the problem is she isn't coming until the next day. Disney told us to fax a company letterhead on with her info. Will they check anything once we do check in? Can I check us in without her being there?

Thanks
Kayla

All I can tell you is that when I book rooms using either my Travel Agent discount or my daughter's CM discount, we are asked to either show my IATA card or her Cast ID at checkin. Now they may give you 24hrs to produce the proper ID, but I guess that would be up to the front desk manager.

I am an airline employee and use my discount every time we stay at Disney. One or twice they asked for my IDs, but most of the time they don't. The biggest thing is that the room HAS got to be under her name. Without her there how would you check in?

When I booked with my airline discount, my pass bureau had to fax in a confirmation of employment.

We always use my dh's airline employee discount for Disney. We need to send in the letter of good standing on letterhead within 48 hours of making the reservation. Upon check in my dh, has to show his airline i.d.

We were not asked for airline I.D. at check-in last time we stayed on my brother's airline employee discount. He was, however, with us at check-in. The room was in his name.

Note that if you reserve a room with the airline discount and don't follow with the letter providing proof of employment, they don't cancel the room. They simply change the reservation to rack rate!

We found this out when we booked a room once, then changed our mind, so didn't send in the letter. Later, we did decide to book, sent in the letter, and found that we had two reservations -- one at the airline discount rate, and one at rack rate. We cancelled the rack rate one -- no harm, no foul. But, it would have been a problem had we not found out about it. We'd have lost our one-night deposit.

We have always used an airline employee discount. A letter of good standing has to be faxed within 48 hours. Upon check in, we ALWAYS had to show an airline ID. You might want to call them to see if they will let you show the ID the next day. Good Luck!

Don't call. The answer is very likely to be no, you can't check in earlier than the airline i.d. holder. Never ask a question unless you're prepared to live with the answer.
