Flight cancelled today, anyone else?

I have clients that got canceled today as well. Couldn't get them rescheduled though. They rescheduled completely for two weeks from now. Disney was awesome about it, just transfered the ressie over. Southwest will as well..if I ever get hold of them. But the whole schedule is open, so we should be fine.

We were cancelled out of Boston today (02.14). We're trying to get to Ft Myers, and can't get out now until SATURDAY. :headache:

I understand it's the weather, it's New England, and there's nothing to be done, it's just incredibly frustrating.

The ONLY plus is that the flight they booked us on, they have us in First Class. :rotfl: My 9YO should LOVE that.

Deb, I thought about you all day long, what a bummer. Are you kidding me, not till Saturday?? That is really too bad. Now can you make a week out of it, or will you have to come back earlier that that?

Jill,

I'm actually on with Delta right now, to see if we have any other options. The main frustration is that we spent a fun filled 12 hours at the airport today.

We scheduled to come back on Friday the 25th, and I'm going to see if we can stay til Saturday or Sunday, but it might be beyond the budget right now.

So you got to the airport early this morning, and they made you wait it out till tonight? Wow, what a day for you guys. What was Logan like, a madhouse, were people reasonable?

I didn't but my brother was scheduled to fly US Air out of Philly to MCO this afternoon. After 6 hours waiting in various stand-by lines and one hour waiting in line to take off, he is in the air and on his way....to Tampa!! He's supposed to land in the next 15 minutes then has to figure how to get to AKL. I'm sure it'll be a memorable trip!

We leave, hopefully, in 2 weeks from yesterday on Wed 2/28 and I've been monitoring our flight for months now. Yesterday, in the teeth of the storm it got off the ground on time and we would have been at MCO as scheduled. Today, under sunny skies, it got cancelled. I suppose the plane intended for this flight couldn't get from where it was to Pa., so it's not just local conditions that dictate matters. Good luck to all.

Hey Bill, I remember talking to you about going in January a year ago! How was that trip btw? Did you end up joining DVC? It is awesome, the villas are just great. Anyway, we're leaving in 3 weeks from Sunday for SSR, it doesn't snow in March, right?;)

Our 6:40 a.m. today flight was cancelled - as a result, we're missing our Disney cruise :sad1:. Southwest had nothing available until Monday afternoon, so they refunded our airfare - we'll see if we get our money back from the insurance on the cruise. We were supposed to go to WDW directly from the cruise. The bright side of all of this is that we will drive down, and we were able to add Saturday 2/17 so we will have 1 extra day at the World.

Sorry to hear about not making the cruise, we were sweating it out this morning too, got up at 4:30am and started to check flight status, the first two flights out of Islip for Orlando were cancelled, our flight, the third one at 9:55am got off ok. After the mess on wednesday, I had a rental car on reserve so if we woke up to a cancelled flight on thursday, we were going to hit the road. Down at WDW now at SSR, its raining and pretty cold. And record lows forecasted for friday.

Jillpie,

Our Jan. '05 trip was great, actually the best weather we've ever had at WDW, highs from 75 to 85 every day from 1/1 - 1/10. In March '06 we had to sweat out an ice storm at PHL the morning we left but we got out of there OK and made MCO on time. We may just end up as DVC members if the BWVs are all they're cracked up to be. Too bad our paths won't cross this year, we leave the day you get there. I'm certainly hoping that Winter has shot its bolt for this year, bad weather is my only fear as departure day approaches. Have a great trip.

Bill, hey thanks for that update:) . I'm sure your trip will be awesome, here's hoping no snow in your forecast! I'm really looking forward to our March trip, its been ages since we went down in March, loved that weather the very best. Have a great time and believe me, join DVC, it'll be the best decision you'll ever make.
