Flex Rate - what is it?

Just called to get prices for POP and was told a Flex Rate came up for CBR - this rate wound up being just $4 more than the non-discounted rate for POP.

I couldn't use the FD special because my trip starts on 11/11 during the blackout time, so I called to find out about the non-discounted cost for POP and was told about CBR. Of course I asked for a 24 hour hold on the rate to make the decision.

Has anyone else heard of this? Is the reason for this like the thing Disney did before with having overflow rates? Sorry for all of the questions, just never head of this before and want to make sure it isn't a gimmick.

I was offered CSR for $8 more when I was trying to book a value. I think it is a form of upgrade possibly to fill hotels where there is more vacancy. It's a great deal for CBR!

If you're already stuck paying rack rate this is a great upgrade! Considering it's about a $70 per night discount between Pop standard and CBR standard! About a 40% discount actually.

Not a discount that can be requested though. The system comes up with it when searching for certain resorts or categories for certain dates. It cannot be modified without losing the discount, and is gone when the call is over.

So, if I wanted to add the DDP to it would I be able to? Rachelt you mention it can't be modified, then I couldn't add the DDP and tickets if I decided to at a later date?

The CM couldn't really give me much information about adding the DDP when I asked. I guess I would have to ask that question when I call back.
