Last year in I bought 4 Preferred Annual Passes on-line with the flex pay option - you know, where you pay each month $15 or so dollars. I didn't activate them until August. This month (January) I made the 12th payment. So they're paid for, right?

Anyway, I'm paranoid over on-line purchases, so I called the Annual Passholders dept at Universal just to verify that this was my LAST payment. The girl on the phone says that Universal will continue to draft this payment unless I send them a fax saying I don't want to continue payments. I ask her why that would be since the 12 payments cover the cost of the 4 PAPs. She says that the original agreement refers to this and I that unless I send a fax they will keep charging me the monthly amount. I still don't understand why, but she insists that is what they do. So today I sent a fax saying that I do not want to continue monthly payments on something that I think is paid for. She even looked up the activation and expiration dates on my passes and she understood that they don't expire until August and that we have made 12 payments. Doees anybocy know why they do this?

i have flex pay and I love it.....yes it does keep "renewing" itself.I am guessing this is to just encourage you maybe to keeo uo your annual pass,The lady that set this up for me repeated this MANY times( i guess she had had probs with people) BUT alas I am glad of thi s cuz our vacation time will be a MONTH later than last time(soooo that COULD have meant they were expired) bUT i called to make sure and the customer service person said I would be fine cuz it rolled over and kept going,,,,,,sorry u did not know,DId u need to cancel?

We used our PAPs last summer and we are going to use them this summer before they expire in August. However, after that we'll probably skip Universal for awhile and go somewhere else - maybe Vegas. That's the reason I did not want my annual pass to keep renewing and I was shocked to find out it would do that. I guess for some it is a good thing, but in our case we'll probably give Universal a rest for a while after our trip this summer.

I think this flex pay is great. We are buying APs for this year this way. I dont like using credit cards to pay for our vacation and this way we wont have to. I wish WDW would do the same. A word of caution though. When we did this with Seaworld, my card details changed. I thought the payment would be debited from the new card - i never checked. They werent, Seworld never contacted us and they cancelled our aps - we found out when we tried to get into the park with them!. If any of your bank details change let them know asap. :hourglass

When I was checking ticket prices today, it said that they will automatically renue your anual pass unless you write them a cancelation within 30 days. I don't know if this was on the website when you bought them, but it says it now.
