Flash mob in DTD on 1/23

I'm the only person in the world who is not on facebook, so I don't know what that page is. It won't let me look at it. What is it about? :confused3

Glad to see that I am not the only one.....

I don't understand whats the point of this. They should do it to raise awareness for a certain cause, like breast cancer or something important. They should make it a big deal and get corporate sponsorship involved and raise money for maybe the CHOC.

THe point is just to have fun. Not everything needs to be for a reason.

LOL I just watched video and looked at pictures of "No Pants Day" which happened recently in many cities around the world. In New York they all rode the subway with no pants. The looks on the public's faces was priceless.
All I could think when I saw the "no pants day" was ewww, I would never sit on a metro train seat with no pants!:rotfl:

The previous "freeze" was wildly unsuccessful, it was for awareness to the Iran elections. (though I didn't get the connection between Disneyland and Iran...maybe if they had done it at the U.N. or something :confused3

I love how the internet allows people to oganize for silly purposes! The last time we were at Disneyland, we saw several youths dressed up like Christmas trees, and they were all over the park, I don't think it was just one group of people!

And I thought I was the only person in the world not on Facebook...:rotfl:

This sounds really cool. I've seen some YouTube videos of people doing this, but I didn't know that's what it was called. Wish I could be there!

Nope not alone. While I have an account, I N E V E R use it. My friend talked me into doing it but I could really care less. My SIL was going on and on about "planting a plot of land" on Farmville :confused3

okkkkk

There is video on the Facebook page. It looks really cool and the weather looked great.

The weather was perfect for this today. I was going to go up and see what it was all about but that would be when a bird flew in the house and well, yeah, our day suddenly had a new agenda. :headache:

Well, I was at DL for unrelated reasons today and left around 4 pm. I saw TONS of young people (high schoolers?:confused3) in DTD, it was mobbed. A lot of people were in groups and it seemed one member of each group had a red balloon. They all seemed excited to be there. I guess this is what the crowds were all about - I was trying to figure it out!:) Last night after dining at Storytellers we went strolling and shopping in DTD and it was like a morgue. No one playing music and not very many people at all. Hard to believe it was a Friday night. Anyway, I hope someone else posts about the "experience".

Kelly & I participated in it. We got to the parking structure @ Gardenwalk, and I told Kelly to just follow the young people. Sure enough, we followed a group of youngsters and ended up on the top floor of the structure. They had already formed a long line, and we got in the end of it. We're about 4:20 into the video I've linked, which is the practice in the parking garage. The video also shows part of the people in the freeze, but no one got down to where we were, which was over by Jamba Juice.

After the instructions, we went over to Downtown Disney. Kelly & I went to the Mickey & Friends parking structure. By the time we got to DtD we had less than 10 minutes til 4pm. Nancy (YellowMickeyPonchos) & family ran into us at Jamba Juice & then Kelly & I got ready for our part.

The freeze itself went by really quickly. It was funny hearing people ask why people were frozen, but I didn't really notice much since I was "taking a picture of Kelly" and was looking through my camera at her.

After the freeze, we went to the new D-Street store & Nancy met us there. We shopped some, and I bought myself some Tink earrings & bracelet for my birthday. My 50th isn't until March, but I wanted to take advantage of the current 20% disocunt. Afterwards we said goodbye, then Kelly & I had a bite @ Tortilla Joes, then relaxed at Grand Californian lobby giant fireplace,

then saw Sherlock Holmes. Fun afternoon & evening.

Thanks for sharing, MJ! How neat that you and Kelly were able to participate in the freeze!!

That was cool Mary Jo. We had other plans, so we couldn't go. Glad you got to participate, and thanks for sharing.

OK granted I have only read page 3........ but........ is there going to be a mob flashing people at Disneyland today? Because if so, WOW..... it won't be a G rated park at that time....... ;)
