Flamingo Crossing: Which Is The Best?

I'm staying at the Home2Suites for the first time in a couple of weeks. We enjoy being on property, but it was so much cheaper than even an All Star resort. Since we have APs we will also save on parking. I have heard so many good things about staying in that area
Did you enjoy your stay? Considering this as it’s cheaper than our reservation in February for AS Movies. Nervous about staying offsite but saving some money is so tempting. We will have our own car so transportation is not a problem. Any review about room or breakfast would be great. Thank you.

We stayed nine nights at Home2Suites at the end of October and I can’t say enough nice things about it! Free breakfast and parking, shares facilities with Homewood so it’s almost like two hotels for the price of one. Mickey waffles, cereals and bagels, toast, muffins, breakfast sandwiches, fruit, juices, etc. Twenty four hour coffee and tea in the lobby. Pleasant and helpful staff! Gym and laundry facilities, outdoor pool and slide with grills in the area, outdoor bar and fire pit area. Rooms are spacious with lots of places for your clothes, etc. Full kitchenettes and if you want housekeeping service you can request it in advance or just have fresh towels and such. Quiet area so far and we even watched fireworks from the parking lot!

We had family stay at the Home2Suites at Flamingo Crossing. We're local and our house is just too small for guests. They really liked it. We visited them there several times (again, because our own house is small) and the outdoor area is super nice. Lots of grills and fire pits, individual seating areas to just hang out. The pool looks really nice with a slide. I think it's heated. My family said that they had a decent variety of breakfast foods, the room was clean, comfortable bed, and that they'd stay there again.

Walgreens and the mini-Target are done. The rest of the restaurants and stores are coming soon, definitely catered to the hotel guests and the students who live in the college program housing across the street.

If you have your own car, I would absolutely stay there instead of a value resort.

We discovered that Walgreens also has a full liquor store attached to it!

We just returned from a stay at Home2 Suites. I can say, without a doubt, it was a GREAT experience. This was our first time staying at a non Disney resort. Our 6 previous visits as a family included stays at the Value, Moderate, and Luxury resorts. We will never stay onsite again and this trip helped cement that sentiment. The value and and perks just aren't there, especially with options as great as this hotel and others nearby.

Some quick observations about our stay:
  • Hotel was very clean and the decor was pleasant, including some onsite standees from Disney. Everything definitely looked brand new!
  • Hotel staff at the front desk was AWESOME. Very friendly, welcoming, and eager to help.
  • The room was spacious with tons of storage. We had the 2 queen / 1 sofa bed studio and it met and exceeded expectations for our large(r) family.
  • Breakfast was good with a lot of options to keep things interesting over the course of a stay. Mickey Waffles (DIY on slower days, their staff made them during Thanksgiving weekend peak), hot egg bowls and omelets, sandwich options (hot and pre-made), cereal, yogurt, bagels, toast, muffins, oatmeal, grits, fruit (oranges and bananas), etc. are just some of the things i can remember.
  • Pool --- decent sized and more than fun enough for my kids. Pretty shallow all-around (less than 5 ft all over), with a water slide. The water slide may be open or closed depending on time (lifeguard on duty). Pool is shared between Home2 Suites and Homewood.
  • Homewood was right next door. They have a bar and grill outside. Our family did not use it, but the party we were traveling with said the food was good.
  • Location was good for accessing both Disney parks and restaurants in Kissimmee. Quick and easy via Western Way to the parks. More than enough food options for after the parks in Kissimmee.

I apologize for the delayed response. I haven't been back on the DIS lately. Anyhow, Home2Suites was a very good stay. the room was large, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was good; about what you would expect. My wife and I absolutely love the convenience of the Flamingo Point area. The one drawback for us with Home2Suites was that the room had a faint dog odor to it. We aren't particularly sensitive to it since we too have indoor dogs, but it's just not something we want when we are on vacation.

I'll also give you a bonus review...
Last week we returned to WDW for a three night stay. This time we chose the Fairfield which is just a few doors down from Home2Suites. A fabulous stay in every way! It was cheaper than Home2Suites. Our room was on the first floor; I like that because we don't have to jockey for elevators at busier times. It was immaculate. The staff was so friendly. The breakfast was a lot better than it had to be. They even had 5-6 Mickey waffle makers. We are going back at the end of January but the Fairfield in all booked so I'm trying somewhere else on that trip. We will definitely be back to that Fairfield though
