Flame Tree BBQ or Tusker House

Can't decide btw. these two restaurants for our day at AK. Is Tusker sit down or counter service? Also where are these restaurants located in the park (what big attractions are they near?)

They are both CS. FT is out door seating only and Tusker is indoor a/c seating. The food at both are pretty good.

My DD7 LOVES the ribs at FT. But DD5 HATES anything BBQ and she doesn't like hotdogs most times.

Tusker House has good salmon. Their roasted chicken is also very good. Tusker House is located near Kilimanjaro Safari.

Animal kingdom is all counter service food...

It depends on what you want... BBQ or grilled... both places are GREAT...

Animal Kingdom has the BEST counter service food quality of all the parks! :

TH has great entrees... the roasted chicken and the grilled salmon are delicious!

We eat at the Tusker House every trip and just love it!

I really like BBQ and when we have eaten at Flame Tree I realy liked it!

Tusker House is in Africa, on the way to the KS ride. It's on the left across from the restrooms there. Flame Tree BBQ is in Discovery Island. Head toward Dinoland and right past ITTBAB the path will come in from Asia. Just past this path is Flame Tree. Another way to look for it is to go toward Dinoland, keeping the big gift shop in Discovery Island on your right. Then there's some character landing with Pooh and Tigger. Now, look over to your left and you'll see Flame Tree. Occassionally, I like to sit outside at Flame Tree. But usually, I prefer neither one, I head towards Pizzafari for a hot deli sandwich.

I agree 100% with this. I generally avoid CS in the parks, but I really enjoy both Flame Tree and Tusker House. Both very good, in different ways.

I'm with you, and greatly prefer Pizzafari for that Italian deli sandwich! My son and I weren't impressed with our chicken or ribs at Flame Tree BBQ. I had a good chicken salad at Tusker House, but I still like Pizzafari the best.

I like both places. My dining choice depends upon what side of the park I'm on. when I get the craving to eat.

I prefer Flame Tree. Go down and get a seat by the water and you'll have a great view of E:E.

I haven't tried Tusker House, but we really liked Flame Tree. If you are on the DDP, it is a really good deal. And you can definitely share, unless you are a very big eater. And try the frozen lemonade for dessert. It was sooo good on a hotttt day!

Tusker House by a mile! You have got to try the Friend Chicken Sandwich with steak fries! It is extraordinary! Don't forgot to get a lot of ketchup for your fries! TH has my vote!

We ate at Flame Tree our last trip and liked it! The seating was outside but it was so neat! I don't know why but I love being able to see Expedition Everest on the other side of the lake! The food was pretty good but I want to try Tusker House for something different next time!

Dd and I really enjoyed Tusker House a few weeks ago. Flame Tree BBQ sounded more appealing when I read about it here except a) no indoor A/C seating and b) I read here (not sure how true it is) that the BBQ there is a dryer BBQ, not a saucy one and I like my BBQ saucy. But really it was the A/C thing that was the draw lol.

I'm hoping we can go next year at a little cooler time. If so we'll probably try FTBBQ then for a change of pace.

Flame Tree is my personal favorite and we have eaten at both at least 2 times each. Last year we went back to TH, since we had eaten at FT twice before. But we all love the pulled pork sandwiches so much, that we are headed back there next week.

Whichever you pick, you won't be sorry!!!

Personally I hated Ak Flame tree when we went. I look forward to trying tuskers.
