Flag Retreat?

I was checking my personalized plans for 8/8-8/12 on touringplans.com and, to my very great surprise, I discovered that the Flag Retreat Ceremony is no longer available as an event you can select after 8/1 - but I'd had it in two different plans created earlier. Is it going away? I can't find any information to that effect, but I can't imagine why else Touring Plans would have eliminated it.

I don't think it's going away. They tried to do away with the live personnel saluting the military and there was such an outcry that they reinstated it. I think there would be too many upset people for them to get rid of it.

I would also be shocked if it's going anywhere. I would suggest emailing the touring plans people and asking if they know something you don't -- they always respond to me when I have questions.

I saw the ceremony last January and again in June - the only difference was that the music was recorded in January ('off season') and the band was there in June. The Dapper Dans were there both times. Good luck!

I wouldn't worry to much at this point; I agree that it seems unlikely they'd be eliminating the Flag Retreat again.

I think (more likely), the Disneyland Daily Events Schedule page is having issues and Touring Plans is using that as the basis. There is a full complement of "Park Atmosphere" listed for Saturday, August 1, including Dapper Dans, the Disneyland Band at various locations, Jambalaya Jazz, Royal Street Bachelors, and the Flag Retreat. However, starting on Sunday, August 2, the listing drops to only the Dapper Dans and the Disneyland Band in Frontierland. Then later in August, nothing is listed for Park Atmosphere. So, most likely, the system is still lacking information after August 1 and it will be filled in closer to those dates.
