My parents are FLA residents. They are going to buy our two kids 10 and 17 the four day passes. We were told this would be fine because the kids are under 18. Does anyone know if this is correct information and will I be able to link those passes to the Magic Bands before I actually have the tickets in my hand.

1. Correct. (Getting in to a gray area with the 17-yr-old.)

2. Yes.
Your parents (with their FL ID) will likely need to be at WDW the first time your kids go into the park with those tickets.

This is a question for Cheshire_Figment......hopefully he'll see it and answer.

I would tend to think the answer is yes, it would work, because they do not ask for ID from children under 18, but I'm not sure if one of your parents have to also buy a ticket, or if they can simply show their ID and activate the kids passes.

It would also, sort of, seem like it wasn't that unusual of a policy......Florida certainly has a fair amount of grandparents. When I was a kid (long ago in the dark ages, before there was even a WDW, lol)....my grandparents lived in California and often took us to Disneyland, without my parents (who often took the chance to go off on their own instead of to Disney.....why, no idea, lol). Of course, that was also back in the "E" ticket days.

My parents will be with us. My other concern was just linking the tickets before we get there

Linking won't be a problem, so long as they buy the vouchers ahead of time online. They will need to be there to show proof of residency before they can be activated, but they do not have to be active to use for FP.
