I'm getting dizzy!!! :confused3

I already have plans to go to POFQ 12/9-12/11. Was going to get play 3 day pass with park hopping.

Just found out I will also be going to CSR 7/10-7/17/06. (Got a group rate of $109/night).

It looks like my best bet would be to get a FL Resident AP to use for both trips. Now thinking of adding DDE ($50 AP rate).

Do I have enough time before 12/9 to get both? Also, how good are AP room rates? Think I will be able to do any better than $109 @ CSR next July with AP?

:confused3 Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :confused3

You should be able to get the FL Ap in plenty of time BUT you may want to check blackout dates. You may not be able to use your AP next July. This year Disney opened up most of the summer but in previous years summer dates where blacked out for FL AP use.

You probably should go with the 10 day pass and as a FL resident you would still qualify for the DDE card, it will just cost you an extra $25 over the AP rate. I'm not sure if you could even get the $50 rate on a FL AP. I think this rate is only available to regular AP and PAP holders.

Thanks Phil. I know the AP has no blackout dates. There is a seasonal AP that would not include next July.

I know that the FL Resident Seasonal AP doesn't include free parking, but if you're staying onsite, you'll have free parking anyway! :flower:

Keep in mind if you want to look at AP rates for the resorts also ask about FL resident rates because "sometimes" they are cheaper. They are usually released later, than the AP rates (a month or 2 from the time you are looking to book at) and you'll need to ask CRO if they have any FL resident rates available for the specific resort you are inquiring about.

Also if you do the 3 day FL resident pass in December I believe you can upgrade at a later date (there's usually an expiration) to an AP but the activation on the AP would be the date you activate the 3 day pass. (they did this on the Play 4 pass).

As a former FL resident - 2 things come to mind:::

1) The Florida resident SEASONAL Annual Pass - much cheaper...

2) You dont need an AP - to get the room discount. Just call 'em up and let them know youre a FL resident.

Can upgrade a 3 day pass if you used all the days on it already? I was there in June and have a 3 day from then, but it's all used up. Maybe I could upgrade the June 3 day for December and then upgrade the Dec pass in July.
:confused3 I'm getting dizzy again! :rotfl:

Thanks for the info on the Seasonal pass, but July is usually blacked out. :(

I'm pretty sure that you cannot upgrade a pass that you've used all the days on already. But it was a good idea! :)

I think it would be a good idea to put the money towards an AP. A friend of ours did the same thing. She was going to get the 3-day Play ticket and then realized she would be going again before an AP would expire so she got a Seasonal AP.

Since you are going in July, you are right not to get the Seasonal and get the regular AP. We have found that AP rates and FL resident rates for rooms are the same 99% of the time. We were looking at getting the DDE for our upcoming trip but decided against it (DH's choice not mine), and it is $25 cheaper with an AP than the FL resident cost.

As far as upgrading the prior pass, it can't hurt to call and ask. What are they going to say...No?!? But if you know that there is a possibility that you can't do that ahead of time, then you haven't lost out on anything. If they say yes, then you have saved yourself some money, if not Oh Well.

Thanks for all the input. My head is spinning thinking of all the possibilities.

I thought I was all set for December until I got the call from my Niece. "I'm dancing in Disney World!"

Shouldn't complain I guess. Any excuse to go over to DW is reason enough for me! :cool1:

Yes you might be able to do that HOWEVER keep in mind you could only upgrad to the regular AP (not the seasonal) for that time of year (as you probably already know).

The way it worked with upgrading when they had the Play 4 pass is you would return to WDW on your next trip within a few months time of using your Play 4, (as they did have expirations on doing this--ie. when we got Play 4 passes in May we were able to upgrade to an AP until November-then the expiration for the AP was that following May).

Anyway...it doesn't matter that you used the Play 4 pass as you would upgrade to an AP and the expiration would be the same day next year that you activated the Play 4 pass...do you follow? Not sure if they're doing this with the 3 day passes but I would think it would be to their advantage to do so.

I think I'll give them a call this weekend! :flower:
