Hi

When (if) a Florida Resident discount comes out for September (during free dining), do you think it would be a better value to use the FL Discount and get a DDE card - - or, Rack Rate/package Free Dining?

We would go with FD - my in-laws live in FL. (evil I know but it would be cool if they could get a discount on our drinks with dde!)

8 nights at a mod.

thanks your help Dis (I'm making myself crazy huh?)

Mary:

Well it depends on what level of resort you are going to stay at and how many are in your party.

Assuming two adults, free dining would save you 79$ a day.

FL Res Discount probably wouldn't save you that much till you got to the Deluxe Level.

Hope this helps.

I'll let my in-laws know.

Hoping for 8 nights POFQ!! :woohoo:

The FL Res. discount on the resorts averages around 40% off the resort rack rate and the FL Res. rate for the DDE is $85 (assuming your ils aren't AP holders) and will save you 20% select meals and alcoholic drinks. I think the main downside to using the DDE over the DDP would be that your ils would have to be with you at every meal and you can't have the restaurant divide up the total bill.

Not sure that I understand. If they had the DDE and my DH and I had Free Dining, why would we need to be together at all meals? (we would for all or most anyhow). The restaurant would have to split up the bill if we have a different dining plan than they did, right?
