FL PAP room rates

I know the travel experts here will be able to answer my question.
We are in the process of moving to FL. (DH has been living in FL since mid November. Me and the pets join up next week. )
We have our FL PAP. (Well, they will be effective January 6.)
When we have guests (and I am SURE we will ) and I want to reserve an on-site room -- How does that work?
I never paid much attention, as I never thought I would actually become a FL resident (until just a few months ago).
Do FL residents get better room rates?
Are they hard to come by, if they do?
And as the PAP holder, do I have to make the reservation and pay for the room? Or can I reserve an on-site room for out of town guests and THEY pay for the resort room?

I plan on having a guest room in our house --whenever we buy a house there. But just in case we have a larger group, or friends who prefer to stay on-site, I am curious what the criteria is, or if I can help.

Congratulations on your move. I hope you will like living in Florida. The Florida Resident rates generally come out close to the same time as AP rates do. They are the same and sometimes better than AP rates. I believe you can reserve more than one room (we always get two rooms if we stay at a value), but am not sure as to the limit.

At check-in, you have to present a valid Fl Drivers License.

You do not have to have an AP (PAP, Seasonal Pass, etc.) to receive the Fl Res Discount.
