Thanks. Oddly, these lenses have been sitting in their case for seven years (long story). They aren't even really scratched so much as the glass has flecked away - as though it's just disintegrated up against the inside of the casing.
(OKAY - here's long story)
-I've worn hard contacts for 24 years.
-seven years ago new Optometrist (old one died) recommends glasses (for occasional use) because I'm travellong overseas. Problem is I can't see with glasses.
-Present time - decide to switch to soft. Prescription still the same. Recommend I wear glasses and break in softies.
-after few days without hard I can see well with glasses (although the scratches are annoying). But - I can't see with softs.
-Optometrist (another one) says that it will take 30 days (at least) to tell my prescription for soft because the hard ones have changed the shape of my cornea! It takes a while to go back to normal.
-In one week my actual vision has improved immensely! Glasses vision is good. Soft vision bad. Nobody can explain it!
So now I have scratched glasses, softs that I can't see with and hards that I can't wear or it will reverse the de-cornea-changing process! So I'm wearing the softs and glasses and in a few weeks will have another eye test.
