Five Guys Hamburgers.

WOW, that's a great idea. I think I might try that. Closest one to me is 40 miles away. In fact, I know someone that would be happy to drop everything for anyone and drive them, say...up to 200 miles away!

Oooo! Back to the other thread. . .

We don't have those chains down here, but my mom read an article somewhere recently that ranked Five Guys and In and Out as the Best Burgers in the country - not sure who came first though.

I love both of them. But I've only had In and Out twice. They are mainly on the west coast (ate at one in Las Vegas and one in Anaheim). I'd probably give 5 Guys the edge, but only because I haven't had In and Out since 2006. ( :guilty: I miss Disneyland)

We have a Five Guys here and they do make a great burger and fries. It's always busy.

count me in as another addict here. we have like 4 right around me so its easy to eat all the time......thank goodness i have curved the addiction a bit but yeah i think it too is responsible for quite a few pounds..(of potatoes..lol)

I wish I hadn't opened this thread. We've got a Five Guys about a mile away. Could be trouble.

The burger was super dry when we went there. The fires were great though. Maybe we'll try it agian someday. I just didn't get the appeal of the burger. red robin is way better.

I LOVE Red Robin!

Where we used to live, we had them all over the place. Part of our move was to get away from the addiction! Silly me, our house is 2 miles from one now.

I won't go alone, because the small order of fries would feed me for a week-so someone has to go to share the fries. Besides, a little burger is more than enough. Yum.

Previous posters are right, In and Out is incredible and I'm still ticked that the local Whataburger is gone-those are two chains that make great burgers. However, if you can't get either one of those, Five Guys is the only way to get a good burger from a chain.

(Yes, the malt vinegar is a must on those fries.)

There pretty good, we go there like once a week since they arrived in our town a couple months ago. I don't really like there fries but I love there Hamburgers, there a bit greesy but good ;)

I was not impressed with Five Guys burgers - but BF LOVES them. BUT, give me an order of fries and a cup full of their peanuts and I am a happy girl! lol

I'd rather have Fuddrucker's. Yuuuuummmmmmmmmmm

YES!! We had Fudd's for lunch today - so, so good. :thumbsup2

I like Fuddruckers too and many other restaurant chain hamburgers. I think they can do a great job, but I don't usually compare Five Guys burgers to restaurant burgers. Where I live, Fuddruckers is more "restaurant" style even though it is counter service. You have your toppings bar and can essentially make it your way.

I think many restaurant burgers do better than the quick places.

So as far as quick burger chains, I think Five Guys does a great job. My burger is always really hot and juicy and the I like the way all the condiments kind of meld in with the juicy burger. I like a sloppy burger.:lovestruc

They were out of this world when they were just 2 hole-in-the-wall-looks-like-you-will-get-food-posioning stores in my hometown! They are lacking in qualitty a bit now.

I still go there, because I do find them to be the best around here, but I miss the old 5 guys. I've had a better burger in the northern VA area since then though...

Now that you mention it though, I think we are going to have to have 5 guys for lunch on Saturday!!!

We first had Five Guys in Jax FL. OMG, we were addicted. We don't have one within a hundred miles of us but last year when we were driving to VA, we suddenly realized we could punch it in the GPS. Lo and behold we located one about 3 miles from the next exit. YUMMY!

Hopefully there's one near Winter Haven where we are moving. (But not TOO close).

I live a mile from the first and original 5 guys restaurant..I am AMAZED at how over the last 10 years, 5 Guys has EXPLODED!! I love 5 guys and think its a better burger than anything- hands down.

Well, they are in the process of building one here, but we are moving to Richmond Va in the next few weeks, so we may not get to try it before we leave, unless they have one in the Richmond area. Ive never been to VA so I have no idea what its like up there or what is there.

We have a new 5 Guys about 1 mile from my home. So far we have tried them twice and I hate to admit that I don't like the burgers. Both times they were very dry - glad I had ketchup on them! Probably won't go back. Maybe their quality varies from franchise to franchise.

I'm actually not that crazy about their burgers like my DBF is--they're good, especially for the price and the variety of toppings you can get at no extra cost, but that's about it. While the Cajun fries are unique and tasty, I really don't care for limp homemade fries--never really have.

Now the hot dogs, those I love. I find the Vienna Beef dogs that Chicago's famous for to be too dang salty, but Five Guys' kosher dogs are perfect. And the way they're split and grilled... Mmmmm!

The reason I am sitting at my computer this evening is from getting sick eating at Five Guys at lunchtime this afternoon. I think the mushrooms for the topping were spoiled-It's been a looonnnggg time since I've been in that much stomach pain.

It was my second visit-the first was disappointing but wanted to try it again. After today, I won't be back. The nearly $7 paid for a mini burger, fries, and a glass of water is ridiculous also.
