Fit Before 50: Barb's Journal to a Slimmer, Healthier Self

I can't believe you got in a workout at 10 PM. Granted, I'm one of those "Early to bed, early to rise" people, so... That's amazing. I wish I could do that. And, you're talking about late night exercising and morning exercising. Again, couldn't do that. But if you can, I say go for it!

Did you say 28 degrees in Florida?!?!?!? :cold: Yikes!

I love Subway's veggie subs! :lovestruc Although, I have mayo and cheese on them so they're not as low calorie as they could be. ;)

Great job on getting some cleaning and organizing done yesterday!:thumbsup2

Have a great Tuesday!

What an awesome BG pic! We haven't done one of the safaris yet but it's in our eventual plans.

Ugh, another after-10 workout last night. I was on business calls till 10 p.m., although I can't complain becase that means business is good and that's something to be happy about these days. The EA Sports Active threw in a new activity (dancing). I'm looking forward to getting the upgrade package, although I am waiting until after I complete the 30 day challenge.

It doesn't seem like enough time would have passed to see new muscle, yet I swear I notice a difference in my arms (it's very big on arm exercises). I am also building endurance in the running part.

The cruise is always a challenge; I give myself permission to "let go" at Palo and behave myself at the other meals (although my downfall is snacking on french fries in between). I actually made it through the Panama Canal cruise (15 days) without gaining, but that's because I worked my butt off every day on the treadmill. They have TVs to watch, although it's soothing just to look out at the ocean.

Hopefully things will be slower today so I get my workout in at a reasonable time (and get caught up on my other work...I have been neglecting my writing due to being busy with the other two businesses).

I'm a night owl too - and just the idea of getting up too early freaks me out! LOL Silly, huh?

Yeah for business being good - that's worth smiling about.

Cool beans on seeing the new muscle formation and building endurance.

I don't think it's too early to see muscle definition. I have definitely noticed my arms getting more toned after only 5 Shred workouts. I think if you work out the right way, you can see quick results. Keep it up, you are obviously making progress! :cool1:

Barb, good luck getting those workouts in, even if its late! That is the sort of serious determination and motivation that will keep you successful.

I cannot believe you were on a 15 day cruise and didn't gain a pound. What an accomplishment!

When is your next cruise?

WOW. What motivation you have to work out, even if it is so late!!! Way to go!

I hear you about being a night owl. Unfortunately, I've been having to fight it because of our current life situation. I MUST wake up early. Ugh. I hate it. So hard to do.

It sounds like you have been able to achieve a decent balance in life. You sound able to mix pleasure with sensibility and know when to limit yourself and when to kick the exercise up a knotch to match your cruise indulging. Awesome.

Glad that business is going well but I hope you can get your work out in earlier! LOL.

Wow good for you Barb to be able to work out so late!

Thanks for the warm weather wishes this weekend! We had Tgiving at Ohana this year, it was great. If you are looking for somewhere next year give it a try.

Linda

I managed to exercise a little earlier today (9ish). It's funny how breaking up the routine into a bunch of small pieces makes it so much more fun. I just love that Wii!

My next cruise is Jan. 31 so I will be done with the 39 day challenge by the time we sail. I wonder if I should bring my exercise band and try to recreate a routine on board. I usually do the treadmills but those get a little boring if there is nothing good on the TV.

I was only so-so with eating today but there is tomorrow to improve. My big emphasis is on the exercise anyway but that doesn't mean I can be a total piglet (but it's that time when chocolate looks so good......mmmmm.....).

Way to go on getting your exercise in!!!:cheer2:

That is wonderful that you did a 15 day cruise and didn't gain any weight!:thumbsup2

Hope you have a great day!

Great job getting those workouts in! You are doing great. Did you take any "before" measurements to track progress?

Great job getting the workouts in, Barb! :woohoo:

I didn't take any measurements but I probably will when I try the Fitness Trainer Wii disk. That is part of what you can put in at the beginning and end of that one. I treated myself today and bought the Wii Fit Plus so I can try the new games. It's an "off" day for Sports Active so that will motivate me to still get in a good workout.

My big emphasis is on the exercise anyway but that doesn't mean I can be a total piglet (but it's that time when chocolate looks so good......mmmmm.....).

i can so relate to that ;)

thats amazing you didnt gain on the cruise - you must have great willpower even with the treadmill :)

I was telling my DH about you today - hes very impressed with your cruise record! & of course celebration - he said your living my dream ;)

Have another amazing trip when it arrives on the 31st & a mai tai for me ;)

I wasn't as thrilled with the Wii Fit Plus as I thought I would be, probably because it didn't save my biking progress after I worked my butt off. The flying game is cute and I'd love the Kung Fu if it were more intense. The marching game just showed me how uncoordinated I am. I still like the original Wii Fit games best but I'm sure the others will grow on me.

It's been six days since I used Wii Fit and it claimed I was up by 3 pounds! I highly doubt that is right; I'm going to have to weight myself upstairs before I go to bed.
