Fishing with my boy?

I know that you can rent cane polls at POR, I also believe that you can fish at POP century. There are also excursions that you can join.

When I was there seven years ago, 5 of us took a fishing cruise on a pontoon boat. We met at the dock by WL, where we were staying. It was a very fun trip and everyone caught loads of really nice-sized large mouth bass. :fish:

Have fun if you go!

You can also fish at Ft. Wilderness. :) Lots of other neat stuff for kids to do there so it could make a nice non-park afternoon.

My husband and father did the guided fishing tour on Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon during our Christmas trip and had a fabulous time. In the 2 hours they were out they caught between 15-20 fish each. :) The boat can take up to 5 people plus the guide all for the same price. My husband is already saying next year he wants to take our oldest son along too (he will be 5½ for our early December 05 trip).

There is a kids fishing tour too that is less expensive but it's a tour that is all for the kids, parents don't tag along. I am not sure what the minimum age on that is. We saw it listed but didn't look too closely since we figured our 4 year old was quite ready for that.

We did a fishing excursion from the Boardwalk .....just Dh and I for our honeymoon. We went at 7am and got to go into the middle of world showcase in epcot. 2 hrs cost $160 but the guide gave it to us for $80 cuz none of us caught any fish except he caught 1, which wasnt many either. It was still very fun and worth it.

We have done the family bass fishing trip from the Poly. Its pretty expensive if its only the two of you. Our 3 ds have done the kids fishing trip from the Boardwalk. 7 is a perfect age to go. They are very well supervised and they must wear life vests etc. Well worth the money. They even get free soda or powerade. Our ds thought it was funny that the captain used hot dogs for bait. They really dont go far out into the lake, our ds were upset that they stuck pretty close to shore with them.
