Fishing opportunity?

There's an ole fishing hole at Port Orlean's Riverside, but we're staying at the VWL. Is there any sort of like fishing opportunity for young children available at FW?

There are all sorts of canals at Ft. Wilderness with lots of fish. They rent cane poles at the Bike Barn, near the Meadows Bus Stop.

I believe you can buy bait at the bike barn, but I am not sure. You can actually use whatever you like, though. I got in trouble a couple of years ago for fishing with hand grenades - fishing is strictly catch and release and for some reason everything I caught forgot how to swim when I released them.

You can fish with corn or even tightly balled up peices of bread. Sometimes a nice shiney hook on its own works.

It's been a long time since I've taken my DS's fishing, now it's DGC's turn! Thank you. I think it will be easier for us to get to the campground. If they want to do it, I'll take them!

Hot dogs! I fished with several guides on the lakes this summer. I asked them about fishing from shore and what to use for the kids. Hot dogs was the answer

You may use your own.

No rods necessary when using grenades.

grenades and rods are for wussies. I just do this. Works on people's beer coolers as well.
