fishing license?

Can you fish over at Fort Wilderness? and do you need a fishing license? My husband and I are going to WDW but he dosen't like to go to the parks. I know they have the boat rentals for fishing, but can you just fish off the pier? We won't have a car for most of the time so I'am trying to find some things he would enjoy.. while I go to the park...

yes, you can fish at FW, and no you do not need a liscense. no, you can not fish off the pier, and i am not certain, but i don't think you can fish from the beach at FW either. I am pretty sure you can only fish if you pay to go on one of their fishing cruises. (they have a few each day and they can leave from several different resort marinas - some fishing different areas of WDW waterways. here is a link to info about all of them. http://www.wdwinfo.com/recreation/fishing.htm )

you can rent just a pontoon boat to go exploring the lakes on your own, but you can not fish from these pontoon boats, only the specific fishing cruises.

Bank fishing is allowed on the canals. No fishing off the pier or the beach. Fishing is strictly catch and release, and no license is required.
