Gift card problem

I bought 2 $500 gift cards. I had the problem with one of them. The 4th digit was not readable. The 1st 3 digits were the same so I assume the first 4 digits could be the same. I called WDW and explained the situation to the gal. I read the number (guessing at the 4th digit) and it took. There was one digit on the EAN number that was unreadable but they didn't need that.......so, I guess I'm all set.

Thank goodness!! Have an awesome trip!

I had this happen once. Went back to the grocery store I purchased it from and they were no help at all. Told me I had to contact Disney.

Before I did that, I decided to try guessing the missing two numbers in the DGC site. I saw someone said not to do that but I finally figured it out without any issue.

Dang sure learned my lesson though. Only scratching from here on out!

I had this happen with a GC for our Jan trip. Was told as long as the the scanning strip was ok it could be used at the register.
Used it when we first got there just to make sure there were no more issues went through perfectly

I had issues with three cards where the numbers were damanged when I tried to scratch off. Luckily it was the accouont number (not the pin). There was someone above who recommended to use a UPC scanner and it worked! Just be careful as if you try too many times to enter the numnbers it will lock. A supervisor can unlock them fo you.

Also, the "four card limit" on Disneygiftcard.com I just deleted them once I transferred the balance to the main card I used to transfer the money to. I do have the deleted cards just in case.
Lastly they did tell me that if you have damanged cards, you can use them where scanning is available. That doesn't help when you are paying for your cruise, as an example, but it could be used in the parks or hotels, etc.

This happened to me. Contact the number on the back of the gift card. They had me take a picture of the front and back of the gift card and a picture of the receipt. Gave me a form to fill out with a email to send everything too They verified the gift card had not been used. About a week later I heard back. They asked me if I a blank gift card (I did) and they transferred the balance to that blank gift card.
How long did this take? And did they email any updates along the way or did the money just eventually show up on the requested card?

Just replying to answer my own question and to document my experience. I reached out on Friday 7/25 via their contact form. The first issue I had, was I could not attach pictures via the form. It would error out with the attachments. I decided to submit the form without pictures

I almost immediately received an email with options including using the card, or transferring to a existing card I had or to be emailed a electronic gift card. To transfer I needed to send a picture of the front/back & activation receipt. I sent in the pictures that day, but one word of wise...the files must be less than 20MB in total, as I received a non deliverable message. On 7/26 I resent smaller files.

I didn't hear anything for a few days, so on Monday I sent a follow email. It's possible the team that works on these issues don't work on weekends. On Wednesday I still hadn't heard anything so I sent another follow up. Finally, on Wednesday evening 7/30 I received an email from support saying my transfer request was completed. I checked my existing card and sure enough the funds were there.

I was just concerned because I am leaving in about a week, so wanted it straightened out prior to leaving. It was a little nerve wracking but it took about 5 days for them to complete the request.

Just hoping anyone else searching for a similar issue has another experience for them to know what to expect.
