Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has purchased the Fisher Price Smart Cycle? Looks pretty neat, I am thinking it is like a exercise bike and video learning system?
Thinking of purchasing one for my ds 3.5 for Xmas.
Tia!!!

Yes, I'm kind of interested in this too! I was thinking of getting it for me dd3(turning 4 in Jan) and ds2 for Christmas. But I would love to hear about it from anyone who actually owns it. Seems kind of big, and I just want to be sure it is something that will actually get used!
So any thoughts?

My ToysRUs has a working one your kids can try. I watched a little kid for a while and it looked really fun. This is my first Christmas that both kids are too old for preschool toys :sad1:

My SIL's daughter received this for her 3rd birthday in August, and they opted to return it. My SIL just felt it was too big/clunky, and Ella showed more interest in walking/running or using her bike indoors!

Don't know if that helps, but that was her feedback...

I think it looks neat. I have not seen it in person, but DS is will be 5 right after christmas and I think he is too old for it and I don't want a large toy like that, we have enough. If he had a younger sibling then I might look into it more. My best friend bought it for her DD5 and DS1, but they haven't opened it yet, it is a santa gift.

HEY! I was amazed and very excited to see parents talking about the Smart Cycle! I am writing a paper on the product for my developmental psychology class and I would love any and all feedback about the toy from any parents out there. Does anyone out there believe that the product has helped their child developmentally either by cognitive or physical development? Personally, I think the product looks wonderful. What parent would not want their child to be exercising their mind that their body at the same tim?! Also, do the age classifications of the product seem appropriate and would you recommend the product for purchase? ANY FEEDBACK WOULD BE GREAT!

We ended up trying it out at toys r us. I am not sure the age range on it, but I did think DS was too big for it. The seat is all the way up and he would have limited time using it. Besides that it the handlebars being built quite cheap, overall it looked like a good toy. He was just peddling away. I think though for him he was mainly peddling because he didn't realize while playing some of the games you could stop, and mainly needed to pedal to race, which is all he really wanted to do.

I bought the SMARTCYCLE the first time I saw it. I loved the learning/exercise concept. My son is 4 and he loves it. He plays it all the time. I love to listen to him. He really gets into it, especially the hotwheels game. My daughter is 5. She sometimes gets on and plays but she is a little big for it. She doesnt show nearly as much interest. That may because she is like her mom and doesn't really give a hoot about video games. She never really has. If anyone has any questions I would be glad to answer.

I have it. DD3 just got it for her birthday last week. She loves it. DD6 loves it more though. The biggest problem is their constant fighting over it. We'll see if they continue to love it after the newness has worn off. You can adjust the height of the seat. DD6 is too big for it, but it doesn't seem to bother him. He has the spongebob game and DD3 has Dora. It takes up too much room in my tiny house, but DMIL bought it for them, so what can you do? Let me know if you have any specific questions.
