Has anyone here bought one of these and tried it out yet?

We're thinking about getting one for DS before our upcoming WDW trip. But what reviews I could find on line didn't sound very positive.

Some of the negatives I've heard claim that its too easy for children to accidentally delete desired photographs and that pictures come out too dark too often.

Anyone here have any experience with these that can support or refute these reviews?

I do not have first hand experience, BUT went to a bday party and one of the boys had his, so i asked about it. The mom said it took "craptastic" pictures and she has never been able to print out a one because the are all so grainy. She said i would better off getting a real digital camera for around the same price that took better pics, if i thought my child could be careful with it. I dont think will be careful with one so we just wont be getting a camera this year.

I got one for my son. It is to easy to delete the pictures. It has a delete button right on the back and one push of it and the picture is gone. It don't take the best pictures. Most of the dark pictures come from being in a dark area.

I don't have the FP one but my ds does have the Batman one. It is the biggest piece of junk I have ever seen. I can only imagine that any of these child digital cameras are about the same. I could be wrong, but the Batman one was not cheap and it is nothing but a hunk of junk.

I think $70 is way too much for a kids camera. I'd just buy a cheap "regular" digital and tell them to be careful with it.

My sister bought one for my dd 5th birthday last week. She loves it! I haven't printed any pictures yet, but I have downloaded some, just O.K. She loves looking at what she has taken and deleted the ones that she doesn't like. It is very easy for her to use, but if I were to have her take pictures on a trip (that we wouldn't want to lose) I'd just get her a disposable camera.

BTW, she has dropped it a few times and the camera still works fine.
