Fish n Chips at Rose & Crown

Anyone been able to order the fish without the beer batter being used? Maybe the kids menu version? Don't care for the flavor of beer, so looking for an alternative tomorrow night. Thanks.

Many forms of fried fish are beer battered, but almost all of them taste nothing like beer. I'm not a beer drinker at all, but enjoyed the fish & chips back in October.

I don't think you can order without the batter, you can ask but I'd have an alternate option.

For the most part the beer really doesn't add much flavor, though in some cases it does, but I can't say the Fish at R&C had any beer flavor at all. The purpose of using beer is the bubbles in the beer will add some body and body and lightness to the batter.

If I'm wrong someone please correct me but I believe that the kids fish and chips is exactly the same save for size. What little alcohol there is would be cooked out.

I hate beer and I have a really strong sense of smell so I can taste things more then many other people do. There is no beer taste to any beer battered fish that I have ever had.
