Fish Extenders Join up for May 5th Mediterranean!!

strawberryblonde! :rotfl: I have to laugh! My life has been sideswiped by activities the past few weeks...my husband likes to call it the perfect storm! :) I tried to put down on paper all that I was being asked to do for different events (co-leader on 4 major events, 2 camping trips, son got bronchitis on top of healing from tonsils, birthdays, contracting the pool and deck build, teaching, giving SAT's to 4-6th graders, father-daughter dance, speech & debate tournaments, teenpact 4 day event, and still more!!) my last biggest event ends April 24th so I will have a week to breathe before the cruise....oh, nother birthday on April 26th, so let's just say after April 30th, I can breathe...oh wait, need to finish sewing Fish Extender and get gifts...oh and pack!

I'm breathing, breathing!! :) What do you guys think about having a cut-off about 3 weeks prior to cruise (later/earlier?) and please don't worry if you buy some things and don't have enough for everyone, it will be just fun if folks get 1 item during the week! I know we don't count on getting stuff, just that extra, WOW! We're on a Disney cruise and look at how nice everyone is!! :)

I'm on a 2 night campout this weekend, then I can get back on Dis and add names to the list....plumber is coming right now to reroute my well lines that were broken with the pool build, I have to go feed the horses and move them to another pasture so plumber can get in.... my days! :)

Can't wait to cruuuuuuuise with you guys!!

Tara

I am getting slightly excited now! Tomorrow I am going to go and get the bits I need for the Fish Extender. I am not very craft so I am praying it turns out ok. Infact when I say I'm not very crafty, I struggle to sew a button on a blouse, so this will be a major task for me :rotfl2:
I have already started making a few gifts. I know exactly what I am doing for the kids and the adults but I won't tell you because I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise.

Okay cruise friends... I was FE inspired. It must be the snowy, windy, cold weather. I am getting so excited for this trip. I did it - I made the FE. 3 hours - no joke - at G Street Fabrics and AC Moore looking for all the right supplies. I was a crafter in a sea of quilt makers. They pitied me and helped me out. I mostly used fabric bonding tape that you iron and did not sew a stitch. So happy. It looks decent and I think it won't completely fall apart until at least day 7 (ha!). No good deed goes unpunished... twins quickly lost appreciation and were fighting about whose name would have to be on the bottom. After to listening to this on and off for the two days I worked on FE, one kid realized that having the bottom tier would allow easier access to gifts. Should be an interesting trip...

Wow well done on completing your FE :woohoo::woohoo:

I am going to go and get my bits today to start mine. I thought it would be quite easy but now I'm not so sure. I really should learn to thread a needle to start with :rotfl2:

Does anyone think there will be many more FE families joining us or do you think this will be it now? Just thinking about starting the gifts.

Congrats! Do you want to share pics on your handiwork?
Too funny about the twins!

Very cute story about the twins :) !!

Tara, you have your hands full. May will be such a nice break!

Looking forward to this trip and hoping the weather heats up in time. I've had my fill of snow this weekend :(.....snow in March, do not like.....

Well, I have finished FE stuffers. I have 40. I hope that is plenty.

My DH and I do not expect gifts. The kids need to be taken care of, so they have a MAGICAL trip. I just enjoy crafting.

Congratulations on finishing your FE. My FE is also made with bonding tape. I think of it as the crafters' version of duct tape.

Wow how organised are you people! I have brought bits for my pressies and will start putting it all together soon. Not started my extender yet, I am having a nightmare trying to find what I am looking for.

dwcsk8 I am doing adult pressies as well as children so you need to expect a gift :)

We're going to have to have a cut off date for the FE's as our cruise day is rapidly approaching and Im sure we would all like to have certain numbers to get this sorted.

I totally agree with you. Maybe we should give it one last big push on the meet board and see if we can get any more to commit and if not close it so we can start getting our bits organised.

Unless there are strong objections, I'm suggesting an official cut-off date to join the FE for this coming Friday, 3/19.

Just bumping this as today is the cut off day, so if you are joining us please put your name on here :)

great idea! Please sign up folks, if you are interested :)

Tara - there are 4 of us in our stateroom (instead of 2) and our stateroom number has changed. Should we all PM you are stateroom numbers so that they are not posted on a public board? Thanks for heading this up!

Tara,

we got our cabin assigments last night. we are in:

2604 (Ellie - 11yrs & Marshall - 14yrs)

It's getting closer! Going to be SO much fun hooking up with our Disboards families! :goodvibes

Today's the FE cut-off. We're in 5518. Ricki, Brett, Coby and Jack. Will check tomorrow for the final number so I can finish my FE shopping!

Hey so we have our room number too. It is 1067. We may try to change that when we get to the port. There are three of us. Mark, Tara, parents and Connor who is eight. Connor's fish extender is just one pocket with Goofy on it that says Cruisin with Goofy and his name. Just the fact that we are getting the final list for fish extenders is exciting. We are getting soooo close.

Our room number is 6506. We are Helen and Phil (mum and dad), Daniel 12 and Amy (4).

If these are the final numbers I will start my gifts :yay::yay:

From the very first post, it looks like 24 kids. Has that gotten updated? Does someone else have a different count? I'm just counting the kids for now.
