Fish Extenders for the Podcast Cruise

So Jen, am I correct?

so far, there are 50 participating staterooms.
35 of which have no children (meaning of course that there are 15 with children) and these children are:

Two 2 year olds
One 3 year old
Five 4 year olds
One 6 year old
Two 7 year olds
Three 8 year olds
Two 9 year olds,
One 10 year old
Two 11 year olds
One 12 year old
One 13 year old (Gibson!)
and one unknown?

You'd think I had nothing better to do.......that create statistics as to how many on deck 7, 6, etc., .....

just one participant on 1, a few on 2, the rest of us are down in the 5s, 6s and 7s.....

Don't forget my DD14.

And Lisa's DD16 and DS 14.

I'd like to join the Fish Extender gang!


4 people = 2 adults/2 children (16 & 14)

Now I need to figure out what I can bring and how I'm going to extend my fish.

I'm new to the whole Fun On A Boat thing. But, I thought people did fish extenders everyday. OR is it that people do them on different days, so you get something every day?

Just a thought-
If we split in two groups- the gifts could be a little nicer than if we have 50 rooms to shop for, or we could purchase a gift for kids as well as adults- if there were just 25 or so rooms.

Please make the rules clear on how this is going to work. I thought that you had to get at least one gift per cabin and could pass them out at any time during the cruise. Other people think you can get gifts for the cabins you want and give them as many as you want. Others would like to split the cabin's up so you don't have to get as many gifts and you could buy something a little nicer. Please help and let us know what the plan is. I would like to start buying gifts so I need to know how many I need.

On the PC cruise and the 5 night cruise we had 130 rooms to deliver to. We only did one time, and one gift per room. It's really not that bad, only took about 1 1/2 hours one night after dinner. Some people divided up by floors and did one or two each night, but I figured, if we have a good map, it didn't take long at all to just quickly go through the floors.

Rather than splitting up rooms, I recommend grouping together resources. If two or three or four rooms get together for an idea, they can pool together money and distribution. Depending on what you get for the rooms, you can have the gifts sent to the ship in advance (I recommend return receipt/signature so you are sure it arrived) and then divide up the rooms and deliver.

On other cruises, people have taken the maps of the ship (you can find them on the DIS) and highlighted the rooms that are participating in the exchange. Some have noted number of people in each room too if you want to give individual gifts (one I recall was a charm for your lanyard given one per person, rather than one per room).

Oh and Becky, please PM me and I'll at least get you two listed on the list of who is going on the cruise. I need names, dining time and celebrations.

Thanks for the input for those of us who have not done the fish extending before it's good to know I won't need a suitcase full of goodies!

And yes I will PM you, I was just trying to catch up a little more

Just one of those things we picked up whilst hanging around with some crazy Americans! DH is please it wasn't mmm Kay! He didn't think anyone really said that!

We tried to find you lot after we came back from Coral Reef (got there and it was a 30 + minute wait so came back again) but I think we walked past you - goodness only knows how we missed you

Does anyone know if there are any others from the UK on the cruise doing the FE exchange? If so I'll try and go for something more local.

Is anyone willing to post or PM me a rough idea of what will be spent per stateroom/person? I don't want to cheap out! But I also don't want DH to say it'll be our first and last cruise TIA

Hi DVCsince02 - I would prefere to get some things from the UK, would that fit in with a pool? I'm quite happy to get the things myself but as I said it don't want to cheap out could you let me know roughly what your group amount (each) is? Hopefully that will give me a starting point!

I'm wracking my brain thinking of stuff I could make, so it may be a bundle of stuff purchased and hand made! Although what with attempting to make a FE too I may have to simplify my ideas that or set up a sweat shop of friends and family
