Fish Extender gift ideas -- for the not-so-crafty cruiser

We leave on the Wonder on Sunday :cool1::cool1::cool1: and my FE gift to everyone was from Oriental Trading. Since we have 2 stops at CC plus Nassau, I bought a mesh beach bag and waterproof beach safe container (one that goes around your neck) for each person in our FE group. They came in lot of 12 so they were pretty reasonable!
Now, everyone has a mesh beach bag to take to the beach plus a waterproof/sandproof container to put in their money, room key, etc.

Hope everyone likes what I got! :goodvibes

That sounds like a really nice gift!!

For anyone that did the survival kit
What all did you put in it?
I have this
zip lock with band aids, rubber bands, paper clips, zip ties, safety pins, etc
But, did you put anything else in it too?

How about a highlighter and/or a small pad of post-its?

The highlighter is great for highlighting the Navigator and the post-its are great for leaving quick messages.

On my last cruise I had one of these survival kits gifted to me in my FE.

It included a couple individual wet wipes & shout stain removal wipes which were very handy. :thumbsup2

On our first cruise (last December) We had 16 rooms and I spent under $75. Here is what I gave:

Green gift bags filled with Disney pencils and stickers (for the kids). I made a "cruise music" CD for each cabin, Cruise Survival kids for each cabin in a ziplock with highlighter, post it pad, candy, tissues, hand sanitzier wipes, lense cleaner clother, bandaid, and safety pins. I also included a UCONN magnet for each stateroom.

It was a lot to bring on board, and was much heavier that I thought it would be. This year, I think I will be scaling down a bit for this year. Last year I shipped down my FE gifts since we were staying at WDW before the cruise, but this year it's just a cruise, and I'd like to save the $$ I spent on shipping.

We got lots of gifts that were all wonderful.
UCONN magnets ($22)

what did you put on the cd? I am going through my iTunes library and am looking for some ideas to narrow down my current 8+ hour playlist to once cd.

Last week I got 15 glow bracelets for $1 at Michaels. They were in a tube up near the registers. I used them in birthday goody bags. I want to get more. Think they will last until January?

We did our first FE exchange last September, and to be totally honest, especially if you're giving to kids, ANYTHING you give will be great! My boys were just so excited to see things in the FE, they didn't really care what they were. My older son (12) liked candy, while my younger son (7) loved getting beads and little toys. But mostly, they were just excited to get anything!

We gave a magnet with our trip dates on it and a goodie bag with pirate themed stuff in it that I got from Michaels.

Have fun!

Our trip is exactly one year from now, but I've already been collecting some items.
Right now, our Dollar Tree has a 3-pack of Disney "molds" that will be perfect for the beach! Since our cruise is a double dip at CC, I thought it would be PERFECT! At 33 cents each (since 3 are in a pack), I was able to make my budget stretch. :)
Keep the ideas coming! I love it!

I participated in FE exchange our cruise Sept. 27, 2009

Gave younger kids crayons, small coloring book, sandmolds, and candy.
Bigger kids got candy and paperback book. Bigger girls got candy, paperback book, and mini pedicure set. Adults got playing cards, mini scissors, and candy.

We recieved travel first aid kit, highlighters, notepad, magnet, and some pirate themed items.

Agree w/ previous poster. I brought a 8 1/2 x 10 photo matte with highlighters in a plastic bg and another bag with a tshirt with highlighters to request character autographs. I left candy for the characters as a thank you for their appreciated hard work.

I buy these glow bracelets for the kids regularly and they hold up very well. I do not see any reason you could not buy them now for a cruise in January.

We are first time cruisers doing the Transatlantic in September. I've done lot's of reading about FE gifts and have decided on a few things, some crafty, some not. Can't reveal them now right now,
But here are some idea's that I came across in my research -
Local food / wine / sweets
Local mascots / native animal toys
Cruise specific magnets / postcards / Calendars
Buckets and spades
Key rings
Bottle openers
Drink bottle
Magic towels (the ones where you put them in water and they expand)
Lanyards
Pirate bandana's / eye patches

Hope this helps someone :thumbsup2

We participated in an exchange on our last cruise 10-18-2009, the theme that the group came up with( thru the cruise meets forum) was some thing from your home state.
In NC, as what we gave by stateroom, a small bottle of Texas Pete Hot Sauce, small indiv btl of Moonshine( for the adults). a picture that we took from the mountains between Tennessee and NC. Then we came up with some small cutesy stuff for the kids.
We found out boys and girls and ages, then planned little make up things for the girls, tattooes for the boys.

I just picked up a package of Mickey themed silly bands, we also have Disney princess ones as well.

I just saw the Disney Bands at our local Hallmark store this week.

Don't know about the other poster, though...
