Wed 8/13 There is MAGIC after all!!!
We sleep in late after our antics of last nite.
Very happy to be already checked into our resort.
the rooms are beautiful. Corner room (8217) overlooks the parking lot and the courtyard. and 8218 overlooks the parking lot. Since we drove, I am happy to be near the parking lot.
Very nice having connecting rooms with two bathrooms for 6.
Landscaping of resort is beautiful. The rambling paths are much more enjoyable in the day. It is a beautiful sunny day!
We call housekeeping and request pool towels, iron and board and coffee maker. They say we don't have to stay to wait for it.
No message on our phone about our free breakfast, but we have to go to the lobby anyways to get all new keys. (Computer was down last nite and they could only give us one key)
We are thrilled as we walk by the pool. Kids can't wait to get in.
Lobby is not very busy. We get our new keys, but they know nothing of our free breakfast. I tell the CM our story and she is incredulous. She tells us to go to Boatwrights and have a free breakfast on them.
We have a wonderful late breakfast at Boatwrights (11:30 AM).
Omelets were wonderful and kids loved Mickey pancakes. Our server, Mary, was great. She knew we were from Pittsburgh by our "accents". She also was from the burg. She thought our Goldilocks story was very funny. She asked "Can I tell my friends that story??" We were definietly feeling the magic that AM.
After breakfast, we went back to change into our suits. Houesekeeping had delivered all of our requests.
Spent a wonderful day at the Ole Man Island Pool. Had to go to the marina to get my DS a life jacket. You need to show them your room key and they will charge you $45 if you do not return it.
But we were able to keep it for LOS.
This pool is great for kids. DS (6) loved the slide, but the older kids thought it was a little slow. They loved swimming under all of the waterfalls.
Having drinks poolside and watching our kids made the drive and checkin aggravation seem like nothing! It was great!
Got cleaned up and went to DTD by boat. Very enjoyable ride.
Went to RFC for dinner. Good food, poor service with very rude waiter. (will post on restuarant board).
Tried to shop but DTD was incredibly crowded. You could barely move thru the streets or the stores. Went in World of Disney and thought we would lose kids. Saw lego store and took pictures but again very very crowded.
Decided to leave as we were tired and wanted to do EMH at MK tomorrow.
DD, DS and I took the bus (DS didn't like the speaker on the boat, he thought it was too loud because he was tired) and Sue and her boys took the boat home.
We got off at the North Bus Depot which was very close to our rooms. This bus stop was great. I do not understand why people always went to the crowded South Depot. We were always first on in the AM and always got a seat. And it dropped us off right by our door. Quite happy with our room location now!
It was a very magical day!
