First year we aren't trick or treating.

I'm a little sad- yet happy at the same time. My son has declared himself too old for ToT (he's 13)- I'm ordering pizza for dinner and he is dressing up to hand out candy- he decorated the front yard Seems weird not to be getting ready to hit the streets though. It's been 20 years we've been going out.

Who else is having their first year of no ToT?

I find it easier and more fun now that she doesn't want to TorT anymore. DD is 14 and hasn't wanted to TorT for a few years now. We also will be ordering pizza, watchign movies, and passing out candy.

I don't have children to take TOT. I also have always wanted to hand out candy, but have never had any children TOT where we live, I guess because we have always lived in apt buildings.

So I'm heading to the mall, where kids TOT around the stores. Funny how it seems that Godiva never opens on Oct. 31!

This is our first year, too. Our youngest (14)announced she would die of embarassment if she had to Trick or Treat like a little kid. We decorated the house and yard, will be having chili for dinner, then put on some scary movies and hand out candy. I did feel a little relieved when I went to Target and realized I didn't have to worry about costumes for the first time in 20 or years. It's easier, cheaper, more relaxing....but still sad.

I will be sad when that day comes for us too....my daughters are 14 and 12 and they are out there TOT right as I type this! My oldest is Link from the Legend of Zelda, and my other one is a witch. Neither likes candy, but they have so much fun TOT anyway!

They didn't want to go to the pumpkin patch this year. That really made me sad......

I bribed my dd12 w/ 2 gorilla cd's if she would stay in tonight and hand out candy. Her choice at the time.

She has been gone since 10AM this morning anyways. She was in the halloween parade w/ 2 of her friends. They walked until about 3:30 handing out candy and having a blast.

my 13 year old and her friends enjoyed trick-or-treating last night. we always go with our closest friends and their two sons, and their whole family is REALLY into halloween-it's bigger than Christmas for them. their boys are 12 (almost 13, in same grade as my DD) and 14 years old. we were talking last night as we walked the neighborhood about what we would do if the kids ever said they didn't want to trick-or-treat, then we laughed to ourselves and said it would likely never happen.

Same here. It's been 18 years that we have gotten kids ready to T or T, well, we technically didn't T or T when DS18 was an infant but we went out to visit friends with him in his little pumpkin costume. I keep thinking I need to get dinner going (usually pizza) and get the kids moving. I am REALLY disappointed I won't have their treat bags to raid .

DD wasn'tgoing out and was going out then no and now yes. We got pizza and she'll head out with her friends soon! So this will probably be her last year!

We are almost to that point! My DS is 11 and he is out with his cousins (9 and 5)! My DH went for the walk and my DD is 17 she is dressed up in her wheelchair! All of them are vampires! She enjoys seeing everyone and the houses that are decorated! I just had a mother and daughter dressed up and both were collecting! I am not into Halloween, I enjoy staying home passing out candy. We will order pizza later and sort the candy! My older DD is out with her BF and his son, he is 2! He is a bulldozer! So I am waiting for them to stop in! Enjoy!

this is dd's first year not to tot too, but we have still been busy! fall festival on Friday, fair on Saturday and another festival tonight with dgd! we don't get tot here either so no handing out candy.

AARRGH! I forgot about this part! Nothing beats a mini-Snickers & coffee for breakfast. I may have to run out and buy some "emergency" bags of candy, you know, just in case we have more kids come to the door than we expected...yeah, that's it

I figure I have 2 more years.

My son decorates the front yard and normally hands out candy but this year he is over at a friends house where they are having a pizza party and watching scary movies.

I am taking DD out as usual and my husband will be handing out the candy this year. I made sure to get candy he doesn't like so there will be plenty for the trick or treaters. LOL

I keep seeing ToT, and I keep asking myself, "why would someone dress up to go on tower of terror." It's Halloween, haha. I'm almost 18, and this is my fourth year of not trick or treating.

I was sick last year, so I didn't get to go and my mom won't let me go this year. I'm 16

This was our 1st year not going out too. Our town has a "Beggar's Night" on the 30th, so no ToT tonight. DS 15 decorated the garage and handed out candy. DS 13 went to a friends house for the evening. DH & I lit a bon fire had a couple beers and enjoyed the evening.

Our town had a fund raiser/party for little ones at the library so we didn't get many little kids come by. It was pretty sad that about 1/2 the kids were DSs age or older. On the other hand....we had left over candy!

In our neighborhood, we have a lot of teenagers, including my kids who are 14 &17, still trick or treating. They had fun this year. They took one of DD's friend's little brother & sister who are 3 & 4. My kids took their own bags too. I even had a lot of parents who brought kids to our house have their own TOT bag. We decorate our hourse very big for Halloween as do a lot of our neighbors. We had about 550 TOT'ers last night.

It's our first year of not trick or treating. Younger DS just turned 13. He dressed up in his football uniform to answer the door. He and DS 15 carved pumpkins today. It is sad and strange to not be out on the streets tonight.

We decorated the front yard with Halloween decorations a couple of weeks ago. We have a boy with down syndrome on our street. DSs like to decorate the front yard for this little boy and his friends on the "short bus". The bus has to turn around in front of our house and we have heard from the driver that the kids always enjoy our holiday decorations. I'm sure some of my neighbors think we go a bit overboard but it's for the kids on the bus.
