Hi Everyone,
I need everyone's honest opinon. I am starting to plan a disney trip for June of 2008. We live in CA but could fly to FL for free so that is not a consideration, but how crowded are the parks at WDW the first week of June? I can't take the kids out of school (I am a teacher and can't take a whole week off) so we can only go when school is out. Price wise the difference between DL and WDW is only a couple of hundred bucks for the lodging, but I don't want to go all the way across the country if it is going to be super crowded. What would you do?
Thanks!

We went the first week of June a couple of years ago. I won't go again at that time just because of how hot it is. Also, it is usually gay days during that time. It made it a little more crowded also. Didn't bother us, the website told us what parks they were going to be at and which days so we just altered our schedule to avoid the crowds.

HTH

We have gone the 2nd and third weeks of June the last 2 years and as long as you follow the guidelines of which parks to avoid, you'll be fine. We buy the unofficial guide and go online to see which days are best at which park and it has worked out very well. We are going again this year at the same time the 9th to the 21st. It can't come soon enough!

I have gone in June and it is very hot, however not all schools end by the first week in June so the crowds were manageable. The parks are open late so you could go to the parks at night when the "day guests" leave and you can relax around the pools during the afternoon. It is definately worth the trip, whatever you decide have fun:thumbsup2

Plus it will be Star Wars Weekend..a very special treat for the kids..

We have gone the first week of June for several years, it is hot but not unbearable, gay days has not been a problem and the crowds are smaller the first week than later. The crowds at WDW do not seem to be getting any smaller over the past few years, only right after 9/11 were they smaller.

A bunch of stuff goes on the first week of June . We have gone several years that week or at the end of June to get 2 vacas in our APs.

1st should be the end of Flower and Garden festival.
2nd GayDays in normally during that weekend
3rd it could be StarWars Weekend and that packs them into MGM on those days.

Now with all that we still get to do everything we want plus take mid-day breaks at the waterparks or Resort pool.

For a few $$$ I would not let the heat or crowds deter you from going at all.It will be so worth it if you plan correctly.

We are doing a longer trip this year to start our AP during the 4th of July week ,now that will be crowded

The only downside I encountered going the 1st week of June is that the parks close early.:)

The crowd is managable though.

We went June 6-12 this year. The crowds were there but not unbearable. The heat was there also but again, not unbearable. You will be on the lookout for rain and thunderstorms every day. We had only one day without rain. One of the storms was so bad it included hail and lightning striking a tree and SAB (we were at the YC). I don't know if I would go again that time of year again just be prepared for what to expect.:flower3:
