Hello,

I'm planning a trip to WDW :cool1: and about the only time I can fit it in is the first week of August.

I'm scared of the crowds! Is it horrible that time of year? Like not-worth-going horrible?

Thanks!

I'm right there with you, going July 25- August 2. It's going to be hot & crowded, but I PROMISE it will be SO worth it if you go into it with a positive attitude and expect it to be hot and crowded, use the disboards:worship: for tips, ideas, etc on how to tour parks in the heat and tricks to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

First of all there is *no time of year* when it is "not-worth-going." LOL! You're at Disney! :cloud9:

Like the previous poster said, plan and be prepared and you will have fun. My DD18 and I went the first week of August in 2008 as it was the only time we could go. We took advantage especially of early morning EMH. One day we were the first to ride on Soarin' (my favorite ride!) and we rode it a total of four times that day even though it was crowded as the day wore on. We didn't get to see Fantasmic because it's been really crowded there, but we'd seen it before so that was OK. We saw the Festival of the Lion King for the first time, though, as she is a huge Lion King fan. So you make the most of what you can do and don't let it get you if you can't do absolutely everything. Even if it's hot and crowded, you will still likely be able to do just about everything you want if you plan ahead. Have a great time! :goodvibes

I will be there the same time!! and also at Animal Kingdom
Resort (the villas)! It will be hot but wonderful!!!

We will be there also, July 27th- Aug 8th. We have gone before this same week, as son's b-day is Aug 8th. I have also been in early July and Spring break. I would take end of July/Aug over both of them. Of course, its more crowded then Sept/Oct when we last went, but as others have said. Isn't any time in Disney worth it.

Hi, neighbor! We're just 40 miles east of you! We're going to WDW Aug. 4-11 & staying in the Pirate rooms at CBR!pirate: Can't be too much hotter than our hot & humid Missouri summers! My biggest concern now is getting the teenagers in my family out of bed early enough to beat the crowds!

worry less about the crowds, worry more about the heat. you could burst into flame at any moment in the mid afternoon in central florida in august.
