I am super excited about our trip to WDW in 10 days! <3 No one in my party has ever been! My DH and I are taking his brother with us. We are super excited! I have read and researched and have lined out our FastPass+ and Dining reservations (for the most part, anyway). I would love to hear about the attractions and sights that you and your family do not want to miss in the parks. :)

1. Magic Kingdom
2. Animal Kingdom
3. Epcot
4. Hollywood Studios

That's a tough question to answer because everyone likes different things. I'll give you my favourite things in each park. In MK my top attractions are Splash, Haunted Mansion and the People Mover. Also one of my favourite overall events is the nighttime Celebrate The Magic light show on the castle. In AK I love the safari, because we don't have anything like this around home. My boys love Expedition Everest, I don't like roller coasters. I also love watching the Lion King show. In Epcot I'm still amazed with Soarin', the fact that it really feels like I'm flying around always blows my mind. HS for me is all about Star Wars and Fantasmic! Since its your first time you'll be in awe with everything. Take it all in and enjoy every minute.

MK- Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Splash Mt., IASM, and BTMRR
AK- None. We don't got to AK
Epcot- TT
DHS- TSMM, ToT and Muppets

Thanks, everyone! It's just nice to get an idea of what attractions are most interesting to you. :) I have planned an extra day to return to our most favorite park before we leave.

Yes returning to your favourite park is a good idea - and gives the opportunity to catch something you missed. For us the highlight wasn't a ride - it was the way Mickey and Minnie interacted with our DGS who they instinctively knew was unwell. We hadn't made any pre-bookings and were just in the right place at the right time to practically walk right in - it was truly magical and all the grown ups were emotional.
Enjoy your trip x

One of my favorites is the morning welcome show at Magic Kingdom. It just makes me feel like I'm really at Disney. Others at MK: Pirates, Splash Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, People Mover, Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion.

At AK: safari ride, animal trails, Lion King show & Nemo show.

DHS: Beauty and the Beast show (my favorite movie), Muppets, Tower of Terror, Toy Story. I used to love RocknRoller Coaster but I think I'm getting too old for it!

Epcot: Soarin, Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, everything at The Seas. The France movie is beautiful and the American Adventure (is that what it's called?) is stirring.

Have a wonderful trip!

MK: space mountain used to be one my favorite but I'm now much older with a bad back, the ride is too jerky for me. Be aware. Splash mountain is tops for me. Buzz is just fun, can't help but to smile. Seven dwarf is nice and smooth but get there early to avoid long lines or FF. If you have small ones, Dumbo and Goofy roller coaster probably is on your list. Winnie the Pooh is very cute.

AK: Safari is a must. Expedition Everest if you guys are roller coaster fans. It's really not that scary and going backwards is crazy... Tough to be bug is cute as well

Epcot: Sorin' is my favorite ride at WDW, just fantastic and can't get enough of it. Haven't seen the new World version so looking forward to it. Test Track is OK IMO. Enjoy the World Showcases.

Hollywood Studios: Tower of Terror is the must here IMO. Rockin' Rollercoaster is fun too. Star Tour is a simulator so if you get motion sickness, be aware. If this your first time, shows are fun and a cool way to relax, rest your legs.

The best way to enjoy the parks IMO is not to rush, esp. during crowded season. Parks will be packed and hot so build in a minor attraction here and there to get out of the sun and cool off. If you're staying on property, consider taking some time off during the day, do an early dinner and go back after dark on your MK days.

Everyone likes something different-it's what makes it great!. I'd look over each attraction, ride, show, parade etc. analyze and see what personally appeals to you and your group then prioritize. My list can change from trip to trip-
MK-thunder mt. railroad, people mover, show on castle in the evening, haunted castle, Festival of Fantasy Parade
AK- Kilimanjaro Safari, Birds of Flight, Lion King, Tree of Life photo ops
Epcot-Rose N Crown for fish and chips, UK area for photo ops (I like Soarin-don't love it)
HS-Toy Story Mania, Tower of Terror, Rock 'n" Rollercoaster, street performers, drawing with imagineers (think it's closed now), cupcakes at Starring Rolls Cafe (every time)
On our first trip I wish I would have gone hard 2 days then taken a down day and then hit hard 2 more days!

There is definitely something for everyone. Whenever I am in the parks, these are always my must dos, that are a bit different from what most people would say, as I do not like big roller coasters (ToT, Rockin Roller Coaster, lol)

1. Magic Kingdom
- My ALL TIME FAVORITE Disney Attraction is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, I canNOT go to MK and not ride this, I love it SO much.
- Festival of The Fantasy 3:00 Parade- My favorite parade Disney has ever done, I always make sure I get a front row spot at least an hour early, what I like to do is go to Casey's Corner Quick Service Restaurant around 1:30, get my corn dog nuggets and fries and a drink for my lunch, and take my food out on Mainstreet, and stake out my front row seat anywhere from 1:30-2:00 for the parade. I have seen FoF numerous times and it NEVER gets old.
- I love going on the People Mover in Tomorrowland, it's a great way to relax, sometimes the Cast Members let me stay on in 2-3 rounds without getting off.
-Peter Pan, Small World, & Haunted Mansion are also rides I will hit up in the park.
- Not every time, but occasionally I like riding Jungle Cruise & Splash Mountain, if you have never done it, definitely do these once, though if the weather isn't warn enough I tend to avoid Splash because I don't want to be cold & wet, haha. But for your first time, definitely try it once, same with Mine Train, I don't always do this one since the line is long and Fastpasses are hard to get, but it is worth it to wait for at least once.
- Character wise, I always meet Rapunzel in Princess Fairytale Hall, she's my favorite, and this is the only place in all of Disney you can see her. If I'm in the mood I will do the meet & greets for Gaston & Peter Pan , as well. That is usually what my day consists of in MK.

2. EPCOT
- I always ride Test Track, Soarin', & Spaceship Earth.
- Also in Future World, I hit up character spot to see Mickey, Goofy, & Minnie, now they have a second character spot across from the original where you can see Baymax, Joy & Sadness (haven't been to the 2nd one yet, it's newer since the last time I was there).
- I ALWAYS go to the Pin Store behind Spaceship Earth to get my pins for my trip, collecting, buying, & trading Disney pins is super fun for me, I got really addicted to it on my college programs lol.
- WORLD SHOWCASE- - - I always spend a ton of time walking World Showcase, just taking in all of the details of the country, you can shop and eat and see characters. Must dos for me are Snow White in Germany, Belle in France, and Aladdin & Jasmine in Morocco, as I'm walking around the showcase area. There is also many great restaurants to try, too many to name, my personal favorite that I always book is The Garden Grill.

3. Disney's Hollywood Studios
If you can't tell by my username, I am a massive Star Wars fan, so it goes without saying that this is my FAVORITE Disney Park. I basically love every single thing in this park OTHER than Tower Of Terror & Rockin' Roller Coaster, I don't like thrill rides, but that's okay, it just means I can ride Star Tours and meet Chewie & Kylo Ren & Shop in Star Wars LAUNCH BAY, multiple times in a row, instead. Hahaha.
- Toy Story Midway Mania is a great ride too, Toy Story is my favorite Pixar Movie, I always ride the ride and then meet Buzz & Woody across the street afterwards, also lookout for a Green Army Man or two wondering around Pixar Place!
-SHOWS: Hollywood Studios has a lot of awesome shows to watch, I would DEFINITELY LEAVE TIME FOR Beauty & The Beast, Indiana Jones, Fantasmic! (My personal favorite Disney night show) and The Star Wars fireworks show that follows fantastic! (Obviously!)
- My favorite places to eat in Studios are Lunch at ABC Commissary & Dinner at 50's Prime Time Cafe or Mama Melrose (Both are great), I also love going to the bar in 50s' (no reservation required) and ordering one of their amazing Milkshakes to go!!!

4. Disney's Animal Kingdom
This park, is usually only a 1/2 day park for me, but there are definitely some attractions that are NOT to be missed, the first being
-FESTIVAL OF THE LION KING, THIS IS HONESTLY THE BEST SHOW ON DISNEY PROPERTY. YOU HAVE TO WATCH IT, you don't need a fastpass for it, just show up 20-30 minutes before the showtime and you will be fine, it is 100% worth any wait.
- Rafiki's Planet Watch- this is a hidden gem, you have to take the Wildlife Express Train from the back of the park near the Safaris to get to it, and it closes early at 5:00 PM, so make sure you plan your day around that, go in the morning. There is so many things to do up there, you can meet Rafiki, Chip & Dale, and they have a lot of exhibits that show how they take care of the animals, they also sometimes bring birds and stuff out so you can see them up close and they have windows where you can watch vets work on animals in the mornings (not everyday, but it's done quiet often)
- Kilamanjaro Safaris is obviously a highlight of DAK. I recommend riding it early in the morning before it gets too hot, the animals are more active then, but now they have nighttime safaris, too so that is something new that i have yet to experience, definitely ride it more than once, it's always different!!!
-Expedition Everest & Dinosaur are the other two rides I enjoy in Animal Kingdom.
- If you are a fan of Pocahontas or Tarzan, Animal Kingdom is the only place you can meet them. See the park map and times guide for location and set time details.
- Flame Tree BBQ is one of my favorite WDW Quick Service Restaurants, DEFINITELY TRY THIS ONE. :)

That was longer than i thought, lol, but these are my normal go-tos when I'm at Disney. If you have any questions, I will try to answer as best as I can :)

I know you said attractions and what to see, but for me a trip to any Disney park is not good without some of the food. If you like pineapple you MUST get a Dole Whip, try a Mickey ice cream as well. I love the churros at DL can't stand them at WDW so skip them. Try to get a picture of Mickey at every park!

MK - I will probably be in the minority on this one....but I absolutely love Monster's Inc Laugh Floor. I didn't really even want to do it on our first trip, but now it's one of my favorites and I could watch it over and over again. It's different every time due to the audience participation. Some of the jokes are the same, and it follows the same basic premise each time, but it is soooo funny.

AK - Kilimanjaro Safari is always our first stop. You never know what you'll get to see and we always see different animals everytime we ride, so if you can do it more than once I would. Also Festival of the Lion King is in my opinion the best "show" on Disney property. Hope you have a blast on your first trip!

Magic Kingdom: Space, Splash, Big Thunder, 7 Dwarves, Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Buzz, Mickey's Philharmagic, Wishes
Epcot: Soarin', Test Track, Mission:Space, Turtle talk, Illuminations
Animal Kingdom: Kali, Safari
DHS: Toy Story, Rockin Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror for my daughter, Great Movie Ride, Fantasmic

Magic Kingdom: Peter Pan, Thunder Mountain, Small World, Pooh, Tomorrowland Transit Authority

Epcot: Living with the Land and Test Track

Hollywood Studios: Rock n Rollercoaster, Star Tours

Animal Kingdom: Everest

No trip is complete for me without a ride on the monorail, stopping at either the Contemporary for a snack (and to enjoy the mural) or at the Poly for a meal at the Kona Cafe.

For me it changes so my must do is to casually walk around and just check the place out. Memories spark, especially when something is missing, and then the rides that are must do that trip come to me.

It is a bummer to not get on any attraction or ride though. I do feel better like i'm here once I've done anything... :)

Watching the fireworks from a location not common to watch them. For example, I love the fireworks from behind the castle (dont' miss them from the front if you've never seen them at least once). The other locations HS are closed for construction so I look forward to being able to do this..

I would be really interested in hearing what your must dos become after you have your first trip.. I love getting new perspective when you don't have decades of memories attached to the place.

Everyone has great advice for you, my only suggestion is to take things a little slower and enjoy all the details that Disney offers. Everything is art in Disney and the amount of thought that went into WDW is amazing. It's the little things that make Disney special so do take the time to observe everything, and I think your trip will be so much better if you do.
Have a great time!

Main Street Electrical Parade, followed by Celebrate the Magic and Wishes. Totally magical. Classic Disney.

Can I share the BEST WDW advice I've ever gotten?? Better than FP+, better than rope drop?

Do not give any ride, attraction, meal, or show the power to "make" your vacation. Be willing to miss anything you had planned if it will keep your party happy. Your whole family's good time is pretty much dependent on the least happy person-- and that person can change from one minute to the next.

So if your teen has a migrane and can't bear the flashing lights on Space Mountain, skip it. If your 8 year old develops a fear of characters, be willing to skip that meal at Chef Mickey's, the one you tried so very hard to secure. If the kids are dying to get back to the pool, consider rearranging your FPs, even though it may mean you never ride 7DMT.

Far far better to say "Yes, we missed ___. But we had a great time; we'll have to see it next trip." than "Ah, yes, Space Mountain. That's the ride that ruined Jimmy for two days. We had a massive fight..."
