We are headed to CA in Dec for the very first time to see my SIL and her new baby, well my hubby has been before but that was when he was in University for conferences.

Planning on going to Disneyland because, well, it's a once in a lifetime trip so we have to. We are a family of 5 Mom, Dad, and kids 10, 9 & 4 at the time of travel. I just booked the new Holiday Inn Express and Suites that will be opening in Aug for 3 nights Nov 30th - Dec 3. It seemed like a great deal free cancellation up to NOv 30th, buffet breakfast, 2 queen suite with sleeper for $143/night.

We contemplated staying at the Paradise Pier but it would be $282/night. Also contemplated the HOJO with the waterpark and the Best Western that is right next to the monorail.

Do you think we made a good choice with the Holiday Inn? We want to be close because right now we are planning to not have a car. We are used to WDW so we don't mind walking at all. We are also Canadian where it's -40 right now so any weather is better than here in Dec. LOL

Our last trip to WDW we stayed at Caribbean Beach in a standard room with the murphy bed with no problems. Our 4yr old is very small more the size of a 2 year old.

Not sure where that new Holiday Inn is located but if it's within a 20 minute walk or so to the parks then I would say give it a try.
We can't justify spending the money on staying on site at DL.
Have a great trip!!

I google mapped them and it seems like the Holiday Inn isn't going to be that much further than the HOJO or the new Marriot. I am betting the new marriot will be way more money than the $143 at the Holiday Inn.

You can't book the new Marriot right now anyway so I will keep an eye out and see what it's like when you can.

The new Holiday Inn took over half the lot that was occupied by Quality Inn on S. Manchester where I stayed many times. It is a short 10 minute walk around the corner and across Harbour Blvd.
