first visit pin & start of pin collecting?

I have always wondered about this. So they are just regular pin traders who just sit there and trade with the crowd? I always wanted to go up but it makes my uncomfortable. What happen if you want to trade a certain pin but they don't want that one?

They don't have to trade with you. I have seen these guys outside of the pin store next to the Buzz Lightyear ride and we tried trading with them and because they are not CM"S they don't have to trade and if we wanted a certain pin we might have had to trade for like 3 pins to get the one.

The AWESOME thing about pin trading is you can finds pins for ANY Disney park. My stepson got a Mickey Japan pin and wanted to trade it and I traded him so, we could keep it and he could trade my pin. It was an AWESOME find....

My DS6 just traded for a Japan Mickey pin a couple weeks ago. The CM said that a couple from Japan had just traded the pin with him a few minutes before. I love pin trading. You never know what you will find.

One other thing you might want to check into right before going on your trip is which pins the CM's are being given to trade. About twice a year Disney comes out with a CM pin trading list showing new pins that they will be giving the CMs to hand out. If you know which ones those are, you might want to trade for those when you see them on the CM's lanyard. This increases the chance that your pin is real and it is a pin that you cannot buy from Disney.

the idea of getting pins on ebay sounds fabulous, but when i do a search for disney pins, it keeps coming back with all the same pins in bulk lots of 25 (eg, one lilo & stitch pin x 25 copies ) and we'd rather do a bulk buy of lots of different pins.

when buying on ebay, do you use specific search words? and if so, would you mind sharing so we can maybe buy some to trade before we leave in 5 weeks?

my SO has decided he only wants to purchase/keep the disney villains. i'm into quirky ones or ones i just like the look of... and my sis will be trading for the disney princesses so i figure if we can buy a bulk lot to start us off... maybe there will be something in there for everyone
