First Visit on a Scooter

Just got back and thought I'd share my experience. While in queue for MF:SR, which has lots of ramps, this family behind my scooter kept creeping up on me until they were right on top of me. The scooters tend to roll back a couple of inches when on an incline. I politely turned and asked them not to crowd me because the scooter does roll back and I have no control it and didn't want to hurt them. They totally ignored me! At that point I had to let it go and pray they didn't get hurt but they'd been warned.

You told them, they chose not to listen, if they get hurt at that point, it is on them.

I'm thinking about renting a scooter for the first time and already getting a migraine just thinking about it.

I could say "Don't get a migraine", but I understand. First time I rented a scooter, I drove away with a lump in my throat, waiting for the first snarky comment-and waited...and waited...and no one obliged me, thank goodness.

Ditto. I was so afraid I would drive crazy or people would give me dirty looks. Neither of which has happened. I was lucky as I was staying at the Swan, which has great outdoor space for driving around. Just leave it Turtle mode (which is super slow) until you get the hang of it.

I'm terrified I'm going to kill someone, even though I'm a good driver in real life. The crowds at Disney are in a class by themself. Yikes.

You'll be just fine. Listen to what others have said here. Start slowly, practice at your resort a bit. You'll love the whole experience.
