After reading a post about what WDW is like in July I was wondering ---

How many of us love the hot, wonderful month of July for a WDW vacation.

We'll be at GF July 1-15. Anybody else going during this time frame. (May be adding a few days until the 17th!)

I'll be "quartered" at POFQ July 6th through the 13th

"Damn the torpedos, full steam ahead!!!"

For the past four years we have gone during the first three weeks in July. Doesn't bother me to be in the heat.

We also love July and always go during this time. This summer we are skipping our 2 week adventure in WDW for a Southern California adventure! We are vising WDW for a few days over Easter Break, but I don't think it will be the same.....

This July will be my fourth time at this time of year. We went once over President's weekend, never again. Bad weather and crowded!

My son is now in school and so we are looking at the summer months for the first time. So if i could tag onto this thread a bit, tell me why you like july. How are the crowds? I am not really worried about the heat as according to weather.com the average high is only 4 degrees higher than may and we went the last week of may last year without heat concerns. Anything special i should consider or know about going in July.

:jumping2: We'll be there!!! July 6-11th at the Poly!! Can't wait! :jumping2:

July 9 - 15th at CSR for us. Not that I like going in July but with my teens in school and me being a pre-school teacher during the school year, July is the way it needs to be right now. The nice thing is wearing the same type of clothing when leaving home and being on vacation. Lighter packing (well not much lighter) but it's nice not having the winter coats. For me, I love coming home and knowing I still have off til Sept. It's nice not bringing the kids books and homework with them.

I felt more prepared for the heat in July because it was hot here in NY too. It wasn't the shock of leaving a cold state and feeling hot in FL.

I was also able to prepare my skin more for the sun. I was used to being in the sun (with lotions of course) and had a bit of a base tan so I didn't get burnt.

Always carry water with you. July is doable. Just don't overdo. Oh, the evenings are great too with the extended hours at the parks and the late night swims. When given lemons - just make lemonade

A bit of background - in 2003 we went with the Fairytale vacation deal Stay 7 nights pay for 4. We thought we wouldn't be backf or another 3 or 4 years. We fell in love with WDW. Now we make it a priority so we can go back every year - an we keep staying longer. First we bought APs so that we can have two trips - last year we activated our AP on July 18th - so this year the tickets will actually be free. We're using a AAA code for the room and hoping for an AP code. What I do is make a payment on the hotel each month (and buy Disney dollars each month) so that hotel is paid for before we get there. We treat our vacation just like another tuition bill (3 kids in parochial school - 3 kids in college right now) so that it doesn't hit us all at once. Every other year we are able to use our American express points for airfare and we usually have about $150 in DIsney visa rewards. We also save about $800 in change a year and the kids get Disney dollars from their grandparents, aunts etc. for Christmas and birthdays.

We should be arriving July 2-16 and can't wait!!!!!!!!!! ::MickeyMo

Count us in!!! We will be at the CR 7/2-7/9!!!

The heat doesn't bother us, it is hot & humid here in NY that time of year as well!!! We have gone twice in the summer; once in July and once in August. The parks are open late so we swim during the hottest part of the day and have all night to enjoy the parks. We don't feel rushed and the swimming at night after a long day is fantastic!!! For us, there is no other choice.

The only problem is waiting for those darn CODES to come out..... :hourglass

We'd better all wear our green ribbons because it looks like we'll be the ones at the parks early, swimming in the afternoon, back to the parks at night and late night swimming. To our family that's what DIsney is. Hope to see some of you there. We'll be there pushing a single and a double stroller so we won't be hard to miss. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

....we are generally sept/oct people. DH doesn't really like crowds. What are the lines like in July. Not really fastpass users. Going in sept/oct and parks not open too late, not much time to swim unless we extend our trip and do a park everyother day. I don't mind taking kids out of school, but would be nice to take breaks in the afternoon to swin and head back to the parks at night.

Thanks
Erin

I don't think the lines are too bad in July if you get there early and use fastpass. We never waited longer than 15-20 minutes and that was usually in Toontown waiting to see a character. I love taking the swim breaks and the kids love swimming at night while watching the fireworks. It's nice with everything open late that you don't have to pick which night to see the parade it every night (and sometimes twice!).
