Hello, We are planning our first trip in 6 years and our first trip with a toddler. We knew the old fast pass system very well, but we used it more for the thrill rides.

A few basic questions
- Do all family members need to have a FP for the same ride or can you split them?
- How does child swap work with FP? If the first rider uses FP+ and is given the rider swap, does the second rider return with child swap & FP?

Which of the following rides would you definitely need a fastpass for?
Peter Pan
Dumbo
Pooh
It's a small world
Little Mermaid
Haunted Mansion
Jungle Cruise
Pirates

Turtle Talk with Crush
Finding Nemo
Spaceship earth

Safari

Are there any shows or character M&Gs in any park we should fast pass.

We aren't going until October but I'm trying to wrap my head around this!

1. You can split them up, kids under 7 have to be accompanied by an adult on the ride
2. That's how child swap worked for us last year, we had FPs and went right back into the FP line...maybe we went to the head of it? Don't remember.

Peter Pan- Definitely
Dumbo- No, there is an awesome indoor playground for kids to play in instead of waiting in line
Pooh- Yes
IASW- No
Little Mermaid- If you are big fans and don't want to wait at all, but no, not usually needed
Haunted Mansion- Yes
Jungle Cruise- Yes if you are really interested in it (I enjoy it)
Pirates- Yes

For those Epcot rides and for Safari, if you are hopping to another park later in the day (or starting at another park in the morning) use your FPs for the other park. Of the ones you mentioned though, i'd say Spaceship Earth and Safari warrant fast passes. But if you go before/around opening and do those attractions first, you will not have needed a FP.

If you DO use FPs in Epcot, consider booking 1 for Character Spot. As for MK m&g, get a fastpass for the princesses, that will save time! If you time it right you don't need a FP for talking mickey or tinker bell.

Only one parent needs the FP if you are doing child swap. So essentially you could book 3 "thrill" ride FP and your DH could book 3 other "thrill" ride FP. But, yes, you will probably want to use some on the rides for the littles, too.

An extensive and thoroughly helpful thread about FP selection can be found Here

Specifically, post #2 lists a prioritized order of which rides and shows "need" FP at each park.
