Good day all. In appox. 70 hours my family and I will be on our way to Florida for our annual family vacation.
We went on a European cruise last year and were looking for a bit of a cheaper holiday this year. My Parents rent a condo in St. Petes beach area every year, so going to visit them, since they let us stay with them for free, sounded like a good idea. Well, in my opinion you cannot be that close to the major theme parks and not spend a couple of days. Busch Gardens was out because they will not let my husband ride (he is missing an arm). That is a whole other story, we are not happy with them. We watched them lift a man with what looked like no mobility in 3 of his limbs onto the roller coaster, but then told my able bodied, 3 limbed husband that he could not ride.
We have never been to Universal, but always thought that when the kids got a little older, or got sick of Disney
(oh the horror), that we would try it out. And I checked with them on their disabled riders policies and he will be good on everything. Just not allowed to wear his prosthesis on certain rides, but he does not wear it anymore anyway.
So, thus we decided on 6 nights at the Condo, and then 3 nights at Universal and then 1 night in Tampa cause we were going to see the Tampa Bay Lightning play the Toronto Maple Leafs (Hubby and DS11's favourite team) on our last night in Floriday. Anyway, that changed a bit cause the supersaver rate for 4 nights made it more reasonable to just stay at Universal. (Oh, we are staying at the RPR.) So, we will go to the game in Tampa Tuesday night and then drive back to RPR to sleep and our flight does not leave Tampa until 5:30pm the next day.
Well, now that you know what we are doing I better introduce us.
DH Bill

(didn't have a recent pic, so here he is watching TV last night)
Big teddy bear, first trip to Disney was our honeymoon. He is now addicted. Would go whenever I wanted, or whenever we could afford it. He had never been out of the country before we got married, now he loves to travel and just lets me decide where and when.
DS11 Liam

His first disney trip was when he was 3, but he is a seasoned traveller, with trips to Japan and Europe and a couple of cruises under his belt. He is pretty easy going, but gets very cranky when he gets tired, so we try to keep a fairly regular schedule on vacations.
DS7 Ty

Momma;s boy thru and thru. Loves to cuddle and does anything for me. Look how excited he is to go.
He is very upset with his brother today as Liam is at home sick and there are only a couple of days left.
Me Tricia (incase you couldn't figure that out from my very original screen name
)
Oops, no photo of me in webshots. Gotta get one uploaded. Anyway, I am the Mommy and what I say goes.
(that is my mean face)
Anyway, the boys always let me choose our vacations and they just follow along and have fun.
Well, I guess that is enough info for now. I will let you know how we are getting there and why later on. But before I leave I just want to show you the snow we are leaving.

This is why we need a vacation.
