Hello everyone,

This is going to be my family and my first trip to disney in nov 2011:goodvibes, We are so excited! We love camping and have decided to camp at the Fort instead of staying at one of the hotels. Just wondering when it rains there, is there anything to do? Do they shut down the rides or what do they have for their patrons? Any info would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Welcome, and yes there is a lot to do inside. Just depends on how hard it rains or if it is lightening if the rides close. When are you going? There are a few people going next nov. We will be there 12th through 21st.

As long as you take your rain gear, you shouldn't let a little rain stop you. Several trips ago we went to Magic Kingdom when the forecast was rain all day. We had our rain jackets and pants and shoes that could tromp through puddles and keep our feet dry. We had so much fun! The people there wanted to be and most were dressed appropriately. We saw lots of smiles that day. The next day was sunny and we saw so many cranky kids and grumpy adults. Rain can be a good thing.

We usually go in June which is one of the top 2 rainy months and it has never slowed us down. Just get a poncho and go for it. Enjoy!

Ash Family, Have a marvelous trip. :thumbsup2

Be sure to slow down and really enjoy the Fort. :thumbsup2

Welcome to the DisBoards. :thumbsup2

IMO the best time to be in the parks and get on rides with minimal waits is in the rain. :)

Like PP said, don a poncho and go!

Rare that anything gets shut down just for rain - usually there needs to be lightening or a really bad storm.

The good news is that November has historically been a pretty dry month. We were there Nov 1-22 last year and were just there Nov 13-Dec 3 and I think in all that time we saw rain maybe 4 times and never for more than a couple of hours.

Welcome to the camping boards!!

Thanks for all the warm welcomes to the board! So glad that the rain thing isn't going to be a problem! Thanks for all the info!

Rain just washes away the crowds! There is always something to do even when it rains. Moves at Downtown Disney Disney Quest the arcade at the resorts and much more
