My DH and I are planning our first trip to Disneyland for the Disneyana Convention in September. I would like to know if there is transportation available from the airport to the Disneyland Hotel that is similar to the Tiffany Town Car or Mears service at WDW?
Also, once at Disneyland is there transportation available between areas such as bus services?

Hi Flitter!

There are TONS of transportation companies in Southern California, but the town car services will be substantially more expensive for an airport trip than what you're used to paying at WDW.

The two main modes of transportation available to the Disneyland area hotels are the Airport Bus, which runs on a half-hourly schedule, I believe, and Super Shuttle, which is a 24-hour van transportation service. Neither of these are direct...there will be stops at other hotels...but they are well-known and reliable services.

You don't need to worry about travel WITHIN the Disneyland Resort, everything is in easy walking distance of each other, including both parks, Downtown Disney and all three Disney resort hotels.

Have fun! :D

I used the Airport Bus during my late-April trip and thought it was comparable to Mears in Florida. It sort of depends on where your hotel is. Especially if you are in one of the hotels across from DL on the other side of Harbor Blvd, it would be great. Even where I had to transfer after I got to Anaheim, I still thought it was good (and I was really glad to not have to fuss with driving). By the way, when I was there, they had ads on their buses that, if you would by Universal Studios passes on the Universal Studios 1-800 #, they would pay for transport from Anaheim to Universal Studios. I thought that would be a good deal if Universal Studios was in your itinerary.

Have fun.

Thanks very much for the quick input on the transportation. Just one other question. Do you have to make advance reservations for the busses?
I wish that Universal was on my itenery but, we are going to be spending most of our time at the Disneyana convention and that usually leaves little time for anything else. Will have to do another trip to make that.

No, you do not need reservations for the Airport Bus--you just go outside at the terminal and look for the bus stop (look up and the busses are listed--you are looking for the "Airport Bus") Most of the Airport Busses when I was there were painted with a big California Adventure ad, so you couldn't miss them. They stop at every airline and, if you do not have a voucher (which I did not), you buy your round trip ticket when you get to the bus station in Anaheim.

Have fun and be sure to write a trip report!
