Hi, glad to see you are following my waffle and in depth diary of our fab family trip!! Here's day 3, a very princessy one
We had set the wake up call again for this morning in the hope we could get to the park as near to 8am as poss, it was nice to see we were all as enthusiastic as each other to get dressed and collect our breakfast asap. Victoria was sleeping beauty today and very excited as we were off to auberge de cendrillon for lunch!
We did manage to get to the park a bit earlier today but there seemed to be a lot more people about for the emh than yesterday, and as we walked past the rides in fantasyland we could see all the rides had quite big queues already, so decided to go straight to our favourite ride - Buzz! We managed to walk straight on and had great fun as usual, with Sam getting a huge score!!
we then ran round and rode it again while there was no queue. We headed back to fantasyland and were looking forward to going on IASW but as yesterday it wasn't open for EMH so did tea cups and peter pan for the second time. Then we queued for snow white as it wasn't opening until 10am. This was a little scary for our 5 year old daughter but she did still enjoy it all the same.
As Victoria was in her sleeping beauty dress today we thought it would be nice to show her the castle windows showing the story (it is her favourite one). They looked lovely that morning as it was really quite sunny and we got some lovely photos, I just love the pic of her looking at the window.
Our boys were keen to try the labyrinth so we headed there just as it was opening, they were very pleased with themselves to have reached the castle before us and victoria! We made a quick reference to our park map and seeing as though we wanted a look at thunder mountain before deciding whether we were brave enough to ride it we thought it would be a good idea to have a 'cruise' on the riverboat. I was impressed with the steamboat as it appeared round the corner and it was a lovely relaxing few minutes watching the rides and park all going on around us while cruising round the island. We didn't manage to do thunder mountain this time but now we have seen it and investigated the best ways to avoid the large queues for it it is def on our next to do list! Got a good picture of it though from the boat.
It was a little early for our lunch at the auberge but we headed off in that direction as the children were getting impatient. Even the boys were looking forward to our meal there as they had seen the dessert plate in the reviews!! The first cm we met outside didn't seem to speak much english but indicated to us we were too early for our meal so we sat outside in the sunshine for a while and found cinderella's carriage for a photo. Soon another very friendly cm appeared and let us sit on a bench just outside the door until we were ready to go in. At 1pm she showed us inside to the foyer area where we confirmed the reservation and out of the door to the side there appeared cinderella!! Well Victoria stood there open mouthed staring up at her, she was so lovely and held out her hands for victoria to dance with her but she was so over whelmed she wasn't so sure. We did get some lovely pictures of them once the initial shock was over and cinderella spent quite a time talking and signing our autograph books.
I will do a review on the restaurant seperately but we really enjoyed the experience and spent 2 hours there seeing snow white and belle as well as the mice.
We synchronised our watches on leaving
and saw on our itinerary we were just in time to see the sleeping beauty show in the courtyard, we managed to get a front row seat on the edge of the wall just where the characters enter and leave. This was such a plus for us as we hadn't managed to see sleeping beauty in the restaurant that day. I think she must have heard me say something along the lines of 'look victoria there she is!' as once the dancing had finished she came directly over to us and said 'hello victoria' directly to her!!
We were all gob smacked and thought that was such a lovely thing to do, as she walked off we looked round still shocked and she gave us a wave. It's the little attention to detail like this which really made our trip magical
Our next stop was back to the studios for the rest of the day to try and see some more of the attractions over there. We were just in time for animagique which we had seen when we first visited about 7 years ago. The show hadn't changed much as far as I remember but with a few extra things included and we all enjoyed it, especially the fact donald was starring as we hadn't seen him yet. We weren't the right time for cinemagique which I was keen to see so after wandering around while waiting we came across the studio tram tour which turned out to be the only thing out of the whole holiday we were disappointed with. It was a long wait for a very short ride and not hugely intertesting experience, but I am sure others have enjoyed it. Also this meant we had missed the cinemagique show, oh well another one for next time!
I had read on previous reviews a good spot to watch the dream parade was at the bella notte so that was our next stop. We shared a couple of pizzas and cokes as we weren't that hungry and watched the crowds starting to line the parade route. We got a front row spot right outside the restaurant and this proved to be the best possible place we could have stood
We all absolutely loved the parade and thought it was so funny that as Victoria spotted the next character she would jump up and down and shout the name again and again so that they just couldn't ignore her, so I suppose it worked!!!
The princess floats stopped just to the left of us and they all got off and danced with their princes (apart from ariel who had her mermaid tail!) directly in front of us. Again sleeping beauty came up to Victoria and said another hello and the whole experience of the parade was fantastic
Our plan was to stay and watch the fantillusion parade and fireworks this evening as we were leaving tomorrow afternoon so we went back to the car to get the buggy as not surprisingly Victoria was exhaused by now. We got some lovely pics of the castle as the light was fading and sat on the pavement for a while around the back of the stage by the castle.
It turned out that we were sat directlt where they rope off the area for the characters to walk across to the stage for the show and we had great interaction with many of them including Buzz, Mr Incredible and Jessie (another favourite). We did experience some pushing and shoving here from other people but a cm who was stood by us had seen a boy who had just stood directly in front of Victoria and told everyone to stop, this did the job and he moved to the side so Jessie came right up to Victoria and held her hands for some lovely photos.
Once the show was over and the characters had left we decided to go further up main st to watch the fantillusion parade but as it got later and the park got fuller we didn't quite expect the size of crowds that would be there. It was unbelievable, people everywhere you looked, the only space left was the actual parade route. Victoria had fallen alseep and we couldn't really see very well at all and were all sooo tired and exhausted but even so we thought the floats with the lights were very impressive but we have now learnt we need to get along the front to really enjoy it. The fireworks to music were also fantastic especially the pixie dust sprinkling from the castle at the start, it was a shame Victoria missed it. We weren't in a good place to see well enough for photos but did take one once it had all finished and the crowds had gone.
After a long trudge back to the car along with the masses we collapsed into our beds and decided to allow ourselves a little lie in tomorrow! I don't know about the children but even I dreamed of princesses that night!! I hope you are still reading my marathon of a review, I just have our final day and the photos then it's all done
