First trip....overwhelmed with it all!

Everyone here has already given lots of good advice about staying on property and looking into the different resort options. That is your best bet if you don't want to worry about transportation at all. Disney even takes you to and from the airport.

I have gotten a LOT of helpful information through the Touring Plans site. To fully utilize their site, I think is was about $12 for a year which is cheaper than any guidebook I saw at the bookstore and more frequently updated than a published book.

One thing that has saved me on our trips is packing snacks, drinks and other foods. We fly Southwest which includes two free checked bags per person, and we don't need that many bags. I typically pack one bag with bags of chips, cookies, muffins, goldfish, CapriSun, fruit snacks, Pop-tarts, etc. I pack bottled water and tea, but those get spread out among the suitcases to keep everything under the 50lb maximum. On my last trip, I found out you can get glasses of water for free at the parks, so I probably won't pack as many bottles this go around.

I packed chocolate sauce and peanut butter as well, and when we got there, I picked up milk and bread. My kids could have milk for breakfast, and I packed peanut butter sandwiches to eat in the parks.

Those websites are invaluable. My main piece of advice is to read A LOT. We stayed 9 nights at Pop and absolutely loved it. Don't count on it being your "one and only" trip. DH and I both are hooked and can't wait to go back.

Everyone has been so helpful...the hardest part is not wanting to eat everywhere :)

Really looking for a yummy steak. Whether quick service, buffet or table service...what are your thoughts?

Planning my first trip too so I'm following along. Lots of good advice here already.

Expect to arrive at the parks prior to opening. You can get more done in that first hour than you can in several hours in the afternoon. You can hit several rides before the crowd level picks up and then slow down and take in the atmosphere, shows, etc.
